polos1231
[sOLVED] When I try to install GTA San Andreas after uninstalling it to get rid of mods, I always get this message: Feature: Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Game Data Component: anim File: D:\data2.cab Error: Data error (cyclic redundancy check). Is there any way to fix this? It worked before without any problem. I was thinking of downloading a copy of data2.cab but not sure if it would be safe. I have windows XP Professional. Please help! Girish
After uninstalling the game, make sure there are no leftover files in the game folder before you proceed with the reinstallation. If there are, delete them manually. If that doesn't help, check if there are any scratches on the disc. The CRC error generally appears when installing from damaged discs. Alternatively, you can try installing the game to a different drive/location on your HDD. If that doesn't work either, then copy the contents of the disc onto your HDD and try installing the game from there.

Girish
Hmm, then that's most probably your problem. Try copying the contents of the disc onto your HDD and run the setup from there. Just to be sure, you can also try running the setup on some other PC. Penultimately, try fixing the disc using some of the methods that you can find on the internet. If all fails, you'll have to buy a new disc.
