vivalavendredi
Do you guys think V will be available in 3D? Personally I'm not a big fan of 3D neither in cinema nor games but as it is hyped currently… is it possible that GTA V will be made for 3D televisions? VProductions
R* have not confirmed but it probably will have a 3d setting as most games that have been recently released have.
TenEightyOne
R* are pretty tech-savvy and make bold decisions about how they present the franchise. I don't know if they'd be interested in 3D, it's not as popular as the manufacturers hoped, isn't supported by an industry standard and isn't really 3D. The manufacturers are implying that with 8K less than a couple of years away from the mass-market they're not interested in developing 3D much further for the domestic market. I imagine we'll hear much more about that from Vegas. In short; I'm just not sure that they'll see it as bringing value to the title. Of course... now I've said that they'll release a 3D trailer
blakeney
Im pertty sure on ps3 any game can be 3D... its just "3d'ized" though, not actual 3D... i dont think many games atall were actually made with a 3D option where its in full on 3D. I think the whole 3D fad is comming to an end now... everyone i know with a 3D tv RARLY actually use the 3D with the big silly glasses..... When they make 3D tv with no need for glasses it could take off... untill then it IS just another fad.

Guest
3D is just a useless fad that nobody will use. I imagine R* would focus on more important things.
73duster
3D is an overrated gimmick, and it's currently a massive failure in the entertaiment industry.

_Brotha_
Wow..People that say 3D is just a "fad"..I'll laugh at you in a few years when it becomes standard issue with all TV:s. Especially when the need for glasses gets removed.

This is how I see it too… I don't like that 3D stuff either. Didn't know that in other countries 3D is not popular too… in germany only a few people bought that 3D TVs… thought this might be different in the states or so
Chris Fromage
It is possible. Crysis 2, Black ops and Avatar: the game were in 3D and I think GTA V can make it to since it is not that hard to make it anymore. Saw a prototype of a screen that was able to show 3D without glasses on an exhibition. As soon as it will be like that I totally agree to your post. However, as of right now, it's a somewhat uncomfortable gimmick, which isn't worth the trouble.
Adriaan
A year ago Dan Houser didn't seem to keen on it, telling Variety: "I don't think anyone has solved the riddle of how you make 3D an integral part of the gaming experience". I believe the limitation with supporting it natively on the console anyway is that it would have to be rendered twice, one for each eye. I have read this before but perhaps there are other techniques here. L.A. Noire did have it, but only on PC - most likely due to the fact that it would run on better hardware with increased ram compared to current-gen consoles. Of course, what's popular nowadays anyway is that a lot of 3d TVs have a way of converting 2d images to 3d depth. But personally I don't think it's a big focus as such for the developers. Raavi
Do you still want 3d gaming? Please consider these side effects. Side effects: • Altered Vision • Lightheadedness • Dizziness • Involuntary movement such as eye or muscle twitching • Confusion • Nausea • Loss of awareness • Convulsions • Cramps • Disorientation I pass. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

I saw that... and you can actually "see" the 3d even though it was filmed (presumably) with a normal cam, then viewed on my normal monitor... that was the first and only 3D "thing" thats ever impressed me. As a side note...my mum bless her, went to see the new starlight express the otherday...which has 3d elements... when i asked he what it was like.. she said "Im blind in one eye.. i dont know... everyone was going ooo errr though..." Chris Fromage
The game will never be 100% 3D. People can chose it. If they wan't to play it in 3D, they put the option on. If they don't own a 3D tv or glasses, they put the option off. Simple.

jnzooger
Simply put, on consoles, probably not. On PC with nVidia 3D Vision, 100% yes. Just like GTA IV before it, the PC version will work with 3D Vision to give you stereoscopic 3D.
