TheOnlyCollins Posted January 7, 2013 Author Share Posted January 7, 2013 No thats not possible, rockstar already stated they had to build the game from the ground up to create a world that could accommodate 3 switchable characters, apparently the logistics were a headache. blakeney Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 I think when we first put in the disc and load up GTAV we will start as michael, then after a mission or two he will meet franklin (we have already seen this happen in trailer 2, almost confirming we dont have all 3 to start with), then after a few more missions from both them 2, they will plan a heist and Michael will be like "i have this old freind from my military days, ill give him a call to see if he is up for it", introducing Trevor... THEN the game as we know it with 3 protags begins. Im so certain its going to pan out kinda like this, ill actually be surprised if its not. The-Edgar Posted January 7, 2013 Share Posted January 7, 2013 When you begin to summarize the First Trailer, you begin to recognize that the trailer mostly wants to show this working 'ecosystem' where Pedestrians are doing something. Sure Micheal is speaking troughout the trailer, and we can sometimes see Him and Franklin doing something, but the focus is mostly about the pedestrians. I bet he's the first person we play as and start the game off with. and like stated before they didn't want to reveil much. Michael will most likely being The Big Man, The Game Changer, The Boss, The Main Protag...but it's cool. as long as we have a choice to play as others. Everyone knows their favorite Lets be straight forward it's not racist But most likely Blacks will play as Franklin, Younger Whites will play as Trevor, and Older whites will play as Michael the most..but that just because it's easier to relate to the character not any racism but Im sure we'll at least give each protag a shot.. Judging by the first trailer, Trevors character model was absent and Franklins wasnt complete. It looks like Mikes character model was the only one that was 100% complete, which is why they showed him off more. GTA IV got 4 trailers only because it was delayed. I doubt we'll get more than that for V. OT: Michael is the central protagonist and V was always planned with his character in mind, as Dan Houser stated in numerous interviews (this has more to do with story than gameplay so don't take offence Teams Trevor/Franklin). Since Michael is retired, Franklin and Trevor (along with their own individual story arcs) were added to expand on the side activities we can do in the game that would seem petty for a rich, semi-retired career criminal. I highly doubt future trailers will be devoted to any one character when multiple protags have been revealed to be the gist of V's bold new direction and are now a main selling point of the game. The multiple protagonist announcement came out just a year after the trailer. A game like this takes much longer to make and by the time the trailer came out the script and most if not all of the cutscenes would have been done. At that point most of the game was probably done.
