GTA:SA User Radio Crash

Recommended Posts

ThePirateKing

So I've been playing San Andreas for awhile and finally decided to try the User Radio station. I put some songs in and made sure they were all .MP3 format. I got into the game and a song would play just fine, but when it switched to the next track it would play the first five seconds of the song before the entire game crashed. I tried trial and error with the songs in the folder by pulling one out and trying it and the same crash would happen no matter which track played. It isn't one specific track either, sometimes one will play and sometime it will cause the crash.

Any else have this problem? I've searched everywhere for some answers but I can't find anything!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Some information on your game installation.

What is your Operating System?

Which Game version did you buy?

Have you or someone else installed any mods?

Are you playing with the DVD in the Drive?

Of course you did scan your playlist in the game options.

Did you try deleting the gta-sa.set file?

Did you try reinstalling the game from your DVD?

Edited title: to add (Steam v3).

I'm running Windows 7 Professional.

I bought my game on Steam a long time ago but I believe it's version 3.00? (At least that's what it says in the corner.)

Never installed any mods.

Don't have a DVD.

Scanned it many times.

Have not tried deleting gta-sa.set file. I'll give that a try and update here.

I have re-installed a few times with steam but still no fix.

EDIT: Deleting that file seemed to do the trick! Can You tell me more about what that file does exactly for future reference?

gta_sa.set is the main file of the game that stores the whole progress of the game, not even save games and completion, but stores every changes you made to the game's default settings.

Included Audio and Volume setting, graphics setting, languages, screen resolution, controls and all other settings stored in gta_sa.set file.

If you delete the gta_sa.set, it will recreate next time you start the game, but all of your personal settings to the game get lost, and all settings revert back to default automatically once the game has started.

As it reset everything, so it's possible that it can fix your issue so give a try! But I recommended to create backup copy of your whole GTA SA User Files folder first, before delete anything!

This will help you restore your save games, settings etc if anything unwanted happen!

i have same problem, but sometimes the game crash when change to user track radio, bu8t sometimes the crash delay after few song.
i use windows 10, GTA SA Steam (but downgrade it to v 1.0 using this .  i wonder if that from music file or from the game.

)

The crash has something to do with 1.0 and frame litimer IIRC. 1.01 fixes it, but that version doesn't support any of the useful patches and stuff.
Sorry for necroposting
