Los Santos County Sheriff Posted December 24, 2012 Share Posted December 24, 2012 Anyone else besides me think in the shot with the planes, the plane to the left is a 747? 747s are sleek And a Boeing 747. Holy sh*t... Probably airforce scrambled jets due to Trevor stealing a 747 out of the airport XD it's a boeing 747 maybe -800 to me Guys I know that your knowledge of large aircraft is very limited, but that doesn't mean that EVERY large aircraft you come across in a game is automatically a 747. I also know that a lot of you suffer from a condition I call "diarrhea of the mouth" in which you just blurt out thoughts before you think about them. But if you stop to think for a second you will see that the aircraft in that pic is not a 747. I, and several others, believe the aircraft is a C-5 Galaxy transport jet. If you look at the images below and compare them to the image above you will see that the slope of the nose and the shape of the cockpit windows match almost exactly: Both aircraft appear to have a break in the skin which suggest to me that they both have an opening nosecone like this: As you can see, both aircraft have the same break in the same place: The C-5 The plane in question Now, add in the fact that the aircraft does not appear to be painted and Trevor has a military fighter jet off his port side and I believe this is strong evidence that this is a military cargo transport. They have airports and the biggest map to date, I can't believe we won't see a 747 or, less likely, an Airbus A380 this time. Plus, people can't really be blamed for thinking it is one when you say yourself that they probably have a limited knowledge of aircraft. Still, good of you to clear it up. SonnyScott Posted December 24, 2012 Share Posted December 24, 2012 Well, I think it's pretty much confirmed (without an official confirmation) that the military are in the game (The Military Jeep with the Camo and star in the second trailer, not to mention the military vehicle/cargo transport plane it drives out of), so I think it's definitely a Military plane in the screenshot. I agree that I would love to see a four-holer in the game, but unfortunately I think the A380 would be a little to obscure for most GTA players to enjoy. Yes, you know a lot about planes, good for you. Many people know nothing about aircraft, that doesn't make them commit the all too real crime of diarrhea of the mouth. Most people, being extremely excited at seeing a new screen, generally look past smaller details as adrenaline is often rushing through their bodies. This leads people with little to no knowledge of aircraft to the immediate conclusion that this plane is a 747, as it is probably the most widely known plane to the majority of the population. While they are wrong, of course, this does not give you the right to patronize said people. Let me give you an example. This is of course a generalization, but as you are American it is possible that you only have a minimal knowledge of the game of football (soccer). If a defender passes the ball to the goalkeeper and he picks the ball up it is a foul. If this happens inside the box, people with minimal knowledge of football would think that it will result in a penalty. This is incorrect, it results in an indirect free kick inside the box. If you don't know this does that give me the right to patronize you? Of course not. Please work on not patronizing people in forum posts before you accuse others of being douchebags. Also this is not the plane the jeep is falling out of in trailer 2, That is a C 130 Hercules also found on the MP3 Files. 2 big planes confirmed! Who knows what this plane is, it could be a stolen 747, and the airforce scramblers jets to warn Trevor or they will shoot him down. Or it can be a 747 mixed with a c-17 that was stolen from the military base and Michael is providing fighter jet support. I was talking about the passenger 747 aircraft, I'm by no means an expert but I assume that passenger aircraft do not have opening noses? That plane says "cargo." Like I said (and many others), it's the same plane you see in Trailer 2, with the car jumping out. I even believe this screenshot is from the same "cutscene". I just don't like how thinks he's right, when it's not confirmed as a 747 or a military plane. That's where opinions come in at.
