Typhus 1,342 Posted December 23, 2012 Isn't it true that his image as a drinker was a complete fabrication and he was, in fact, a very serious and professional man?

Marlowe. 15 Posted December 23, 2012 Isn't it true that his image as a drinker was a complete fabrication and he was, in fact, a very serious and professional man? True at the beginning of his career. But I've read he eventually did become a huge alcoholic, as well a kleptomaniac.

EscoLehGo 8 Posted December 24, 2012 Wasn't he the one that sang that duet about trying to basically date rape some chick by feeding her more alcohol and trying to convince her it was too cold to leave? Not trolling, just genuinely find that song creepy. Apologies if it's not him.

Not trolling, just genuinely find that song creepy. Apologies if it's not him. Hello Maddox! The song is called "Baby It's Cold Outside". He was one of the many performers who sang it, yes. The other week Stephen Colbert also sang it. I don't see it as a song about date raping, though with the appropriate mindset anything can become really dirty. On topic: He was one of my favourite performers, alongside Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. I listen to his music on an almost daily basis, and I've seen some of his movies with Jerry Lewis, very entertaining. Good inspiration for romancing girls. He was indeed the King of Cool. Don't get the Maddox reference but I don't know, I just remember hearing that song as an adult and really listening to it and just getting a date rape theme from it. I don't think people would find it appropriate now if say Justin Timberlake or some other pop artist put out a song with a similar context in this day and age, it was a different time and political correctness wasn't lurking around every corner like it is now I guess. Could just be me though I guess, but I mean, just listen it to it.

Finn 7 five 11 928 Posted December 25, 2012 Isn't it true that his image as a drinker was a complete fabrication and he was, in fact, a very serious and professional man? Most probably correct I would say, he's like the badass Charlie Sheen is, but much less of a dumbass in that he only looks like a badass. ^That video above was good by the way. "His idea of comedy is playing back pearl harbour with a laugh track". Hahahaha
