Kaiju Blue
Anyone here watches Jojo's bizzare adventure? JJBA is simply amazing. And once it pulls you in there's no escape. You'll become a hardcore fan within weeks of watching or reading the first episode. I wound up watching the entirety of the anime up to the point where it left off at the time, near the end of the first season of SC, then read all the way through parts 3-6 in a couple of weeks. And since so many people are mentioning KLK, I'm gonna share my two cents: easily one of the best anime I've seen in years. It's so stylish, the concept so great and the cast so loveable that even the declining quality of animation towards the end didn't hurt it for me. One of my favourites. I personally like it more than TTGL. 69_black_69

It's so stylish, the concept so great and the cast so loveable that even the declining quality of animation towards the end didn't hurt it for me. One of my favourites. I personally like it more than TTGL. Couldn't agree with you more. My first Jojo impression was 'what the hell is this sh*t' and 'f*ck Dio', keep watching because i hoped Dio will rot in hell, but it sucked me in with its bizzare, over-the-top style, and great characterization. It know it's weirdness, and embrace it. Made it the one of the most entertaining anime i've ever seen this year. And lots of people said that Gurren Lagann is far more superior. Seeing your opinion is kinda refreshing, since i felt the same way. While both of them had some crazy-ly over-the-top story, i felt that KLK had better grasp on its story, so even though things got way more blown up, it managed to stay grounded most of the times. OST in KLK helped too, makes some particular scene stand out a lot more that makes it memorable. Not saying TTGL is bad, it was awesome, and Sorairo Days is the best opening song ever. I just didn't like the way the story turned out, but i'll be lying if i didn't felt bad for the characters. Listening to Sorairo Days evokes my feeling all over again. Cudwieser
Can't say much as I've only seen sporadic episodes. It is pretty inoffensive and fairly watchable. What I've seen were interesting, but hardly rocked my world. Out of curiosity how you are watching it?

Cudwieser
All I'll leave you with is if you are getting Oban through a subscription is to watch it. It isn't ground breaking, but as there aren't many racing anime about you'll definitely get something out of it, Not to mention a pleasant change from the slaughter of GoT. If it was a case of paying per episode or series, then I'd be a bit more reluctant. The worst you could do with a subscription is download or request an episode and not like it, knowing you have the fall back of GoT to pickup the slack. 69_black_69
Anybody here have watched Shin Sekai Yori? The world felt believeable, its like watching a documentary of an alternate universe.Pacing is a bit slow, but damn, story is damn intriguing, and the atmosphere is so damn bleak.Everything is revealed slowly on each episodes, and the ending shed light on why all of that sh*t is happening, and it honestly blows my mind. Is there any other anime like this? The theme explored in this anime is right up my alley. Nothing like other anime that i've seen.

69_black_69
Haven't seen it, but reading up on it I'm intrigued. I see Crunchy are showing. I urged people to watched this if they're into a tense and gripping storyline, with bleak and creepy atmosphere. There's action, but not much. No fan service, pure awesome storytelling. They built a rather consistent world and characters, it'll suck you right in. Its a slow-burn type deal, heavy stuff. You won't know anything at the start, still won't know much at the half season. They kept revealing things as the episodes goes, but kept enough mysteries to keep you intrigued on whats happening. Can't even predict the characters behavior. What i really liked is that the MC thought didn't felt as an explanation of the event, it's just her trying to make sense what is happening. So you just can't help but to think for yourself what is actually happening. One of the best science fiction anime i've watched. Actually, scratch that anime part, it's one of the best scifi show i've watched. Edited May 21, 2015 by 69_black_69
Cudwieser
Anything with an honest story appeals to me, with likeable main cast. Fanservice is fine as long as it isn't interfering pop up. Thank you for the suggestion.
Kippers
I finished up those last few episodes of SAO today. A solid series over all. When they leave SOA for the other game the momentum dipped quite a bit for me and I didn't enjoy that part as much. It picked up again the last 3 episodes and one death was surprisingly brutal. I'm looking forward to watching series 2 at some point, though who knows when Netflix will update with that. I'm still waiting for Psycho Pass series 2. I immediately started on Blue Exorcist knowing nothing about it other than the name being a familiar one. 1st episode was good and looks like it might get quite dark. At a couple of points the 1st ep went full anime which threw me out of some otherwise nice moments. We'll see how it goes. Moth
Psycho Pass season 2 is by far worse than the first season. It just didn't have the same feel as the first one. Also kissanime has up episode 8 dubbed and all of season 2 subbed for Sword Art Online. And it's totally free! Blue Exorcist deviates from the manga near the end, and it's not as good as what happens in the manga. Formerly known as The General
reiniat
Im no anime fan but i just dragged myself trough Attack On Titan (my guess? that bulky dude will be the big titan, and that other ripped dude will be the armored one, all of them blondes, maybe Eren's friend with the gay blonde hair (Armin?) will turn out to be a titan too?). Anyway that anime is full of German paraphernalia, i was almost expecting Armin to urge Eren to join the SS and search for jews.... That got me to think, is there an anime about WW2 tanks? or the crusades or some European medieval setting? i would be very interested in seeing the japanesse take on it. No, but I have heard of Fist of the North Star I have to agree it is definitely on of the better albeit camp and corny anime. It is very much of its time but what is wrong with leaving your brain at the door, cracking open a few beers and watching unfeasible reactions to the one touch massacre. As it stands I've seen the first 60-70 episodes so I've still plenty to go. Zapp
Zapp
the one touch massacre. That's exactly why I liked it as a little kid. Also, I always notice how much Hirohiko Araki made Jojo's characters look like HNK's.. Does Kenshiro do this in the dubbed version? Kippers and Kaiju Blue
Cudwieser
Pretty much. The dub obviously uses a different voice but yeah they still go Bruce Lee during the fighting. I must say good observation on the similarity between Kenshiro and the characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventures. P.S The dubbing ends after about 32 episodes as the full run of Hokuto no Ken was never released in the UK and only the first series was dubbed in the US. 69_black_69
So recently just finished Anohana. Peoples been saying that it was one of the best tear-jerker series, so im tempted to see it. It was short too. Although i agree that some of the drama felt like a bit forced and overblown, i agreed that it was one of the best series i've watched though. I always fond of stories that revolves around friendship and growing up. The series definitely moved me in a way that no any other entertainment could. Not to mention the OST helped to bring out the best of some scene, and i loved the OP and ED so much.

Cudwieser
No, but I've heard of it. American Football (and sport in general) isn't really a big draw, but in saying that there are a few, usually around baseball. From what I'm aware the portrayal of sport is usually quite accurate in anime, be it tennis or basketball. It is available on crunchyroll at the minute. If you've seen it please let us know. If not then can anyone who watches it let the rest of us know .

69_black_69
About Eyeshield, i've watched some of its episodes. While its entertaining, of course it wasn't an accurate representation of american football, lots of ridiculous superpower or something. I believe the MC had super speed or something. If you wanted to watch a sport anime with a kinda realistic situation, i recommend Ping Pong the animation.Of course if you can get past of its wacky animation style (which is so unique, i loved it). And lately finished Hyouka and AoT. Both is amazing, especially in terms of art and music. Hyouka is about some highschool students trying to solve some light mysteries surrounding their school. Had a bit of Slice of Life vibe in it. It was surprisingly awesome, in my opinion. My expectation was pretty low, so i had a blast seeing how the characters interact and how the story played out. Definitely one of my favourite, Attack on Titan captured my interest a long time ago, but kinda irked me how each character always shout just to voice their opinion, and the fact that the source material is still ongoing, so i expected a lot of filler. I'm glad i was wrong, the story played out pretty fast paced, and it was so dark, i loved it. Still lots of mysteries goes unresolved that'll keep me interested in Season 2. Cudwieser
I just started watching Animes again after a few months not watching any, it feels weird... Takes time bud . Try the same thing after a year. When you've burned out or just grown tired things either look the same or other things look better. Try a few new anime and watch only one at a time. Start with movies before going to ongoing serials. Try and avoid heavy immersion in whole series as you'll drown. Check out crunchy roll for some anime still airing. Otherwise if you have a go to anime that you can watch one or two episodes from (or watch through if it's a movie) then the odd dip will get you back to familiar ground. A few choice anime from my collection would be riding bean; Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star and Bubblegum Crisis OVA ClaudeSpeed1911
