Trevor will probably end being the most intelligent of the characters, as he had money, but chose to give it up for a craze of excitement and drugs. Can kind of guess what his theme is, it's the anti-thesis of the American dream which is to have money, cars, woman etc while Trevor is all about being free and doing what he wants. There's nothing "much deeper" about having reasons. Attention whoring kids have reasons the way they are as well, just in case you think they were simply born that way, which in that case you may as well be born yesterday. But yeah, on the topic I doubt Trevor's ever been that pathetic, or emo and attention needing. My point is that Trevor doesn't have that tattoo so he can "be cool."
