I really wanted to discuss this in the Muscle & Fitness thread where people seem to know a good bit about this sort of thing. However, I didn't want to start a sh*t storm. So I figured I'd put this with all of the other unpopular opinions since this contains the same readers...

 

 

 

There is little to no reliable evidence that blacks are genetically advantaged in sports and fitness. I find it slightly offensive that a lot of the hard work of becoming a quality athlete nowadays is written off as being a "genetic freak of nature" or "black genetics" despite the phrases having positive connotations. Even on Bodybuilding Forums some people choose believe in this nonsense. I often interpret it as a self-comforting belief held by many to help them accept their own athletic short-comings. In America, there is evidence to suggest that certain favorable genetic qualities from our modern interpretation of athleticism are present in many African Americans. However, that has nothing to do with the actual race of the person. The "favorable genetic traits" of black athletes are present in all races. The majority of "blacks" particularly in America come from Native American and/or European descendants as well. That's all whitewashed as we just focus on the black aspect of it. It just keeps coming across as a pseudo-intellectual claim to subtly discredit hard work, training, and athletic intelligence. I thinks it's just because we only see "black" or "white" instead of an athletes ancestral profile.

 

As for the height myth, the tallest people in the world are in fact from Northern Europe (and wherever the best fed yet most active people tend to be).

I read that the only advantage that most black people have over other races is they usually have faster muscle fibres and are therefore usually naturally quicker. I agree with you on height and strength though, I watch the strongest men compettion all the time on ESPN and most of them are from countries such as Poland, Romania, Lithuania, most of them are pale white guys.

 

 

I forget who made the ad and it was basically a bunch of black athletes doing different sports and at the end one of them said like 'black people are faster, stronger and better' or something along those lines. I thought 'wow how racist, imagine making an ad like that with white people and doing a similar thing, there would hysteria all over the media'.

The misconception is that they have an extra muscle which is completely false, but they definitely have more fast twitch fibers.

That still doesn't answer my question though. I want to know if blacks have more fast twitch fibers on average at a certain age where they are finally studied, or are actually born with more on average. The "on average" designation doesn't explicitly exclude nurture over nature if this trait is measured after blacks have had the time to build these fibers on their own. I know in America's case, blacks and whites have different recreational sports preferences in their younger developmental years. Different cultures also have different styles of play as well (i.e: suburban basketball pickup games vs. urban basketball pick up games). Not that I don't believe you though. I just need some closure on this.

And dare I say it... pedophilia is not wrong. Acting on their feelings in any way however is wrong. If pedophiles are able to completely control any urges or feelings they possess then I don't think they deserve to be burned at a stake.

I still think that Tokyo Drift is pretty decent. You need to watch it again sometime MeVeCe, its really the same as any other film in the series, doesn't really deserve the hate it gets.

It's not really terrible, but the lack of any original cast member except Dom's cameo and the setting in general does it in for me.

The Bugatti *Veyron's overall design is unattractive and I would never even think of buying one if I were wealthy.

It's a 'meh' car. I'd much rather have a Maserati GranTurismo or a Ferrari Challenge Stradale.

I'm not sure if it's considered unpopular or not but people have fallen out with me over this.

 

My ex cheated on me with the lad she's with now and they've just had a kid. Because she's got a kid, she's been given a free council flat. I think my opinion is, is that these people shouldn't be allowed to breed. We're already grossely overpopulated in the UK and with the influx of immigrants who get places, we're running out of space. I'm tired of all these morons who shoot out kids and get everything on a silver platter.
