I'm using the All Opened Up mod. However when custom text is displayed, it doesn't work right.

 

For example. When I enter the biker bar (mod feature) it says in the bottom of my screen "BIKEBAR missing" as the interior name. For the Speedometer, it says "SPEEDOMETER missing". Unless the mod came with an American.gxt.

 

Edit: Did you mod your timecyc.dat?

[name].pvr.toc --> include offsets

[name].pvr.dat --> include image data

I wonder, can the Android textures be opened?

 

As stated before though, all the textures are the same (ones you can open as of now) and the new ones are in a different format. It seems though that visual effects are applied to the textures and they have new filtering options. (on higher end devices more so.) This could be some form of special texture, like normal and spec maps are in GTA IV.

 

Edit: Does the Android have the new img file formats or can all the new stuff be read with the current tools?

First post on here in a very long time. I'm rather curious about the .txd bit of it all. I made a post on the reddit thread about all of this, and saw another post about this very thread.

Has anyone had a chance to eyeball the sfx.RAW file? It's the largest one in the app, and I'm very interested as to what is stored in there.

Otherwise, I had noticed the relation in one of the text files, naming each individual image in the .txd of a vehicle as what I'm guessing is a hex something or other? I had never been very educated on the whole Hex thing. More or less what all I know is perusing with a text editor, IMGTool, and TXDEditor.

VC happened to be my first foray into PC game modding, I like to think I have the most experience with it over any other game.

Cracking this code...Would make me feel like a kid all over again =P

 

EDIT: I have gone through the thread, and some of what I've said, such as the Hex dealy, I've taken from some posts. So thanks for enlightening me on that bit. Had no idea what those values were referring to.

EDIT 2: Has anybody else noticed that with the Tape Deck radio station, it repeats the first song after anything happens? Like a mini-cutscene, and it will start the first song over again. There's no shuffle function or anything, which kind of bugs me. What REALLY bugs me, is the fact that I hear the first 5 seconds of the same freaking song 12 times within one minute of playing on a regular mission.

Does anyone know how to properly disassemble ios executable? I tried android libGTAVC.so, and it's pretty readable, but ios code looks different, and it doesn't have xrefs, which i can see in android code.

i don't think modding can be done on ios6 it has some lock that prevents you from editing files

 

as for android i can now see it's on select P2P sites

i think that The sfx.RAW is the file for audio

Pretty sure it's same as PC version, it holds all sound effects and speech (only words or short sentences) Radio, cutscene audio and some others are single mp3 files.

How can i change gta3vc(ios)? Because when i change something in there with hex editor, vice city shows black screen at launch and quit.

UPD: Oh, i just figured, i need to sign it and respring, works now.

UPD2: I just made no intro fix, nice.

Cant we just force the app to not look for the .dat and use only the gta3.img?

Okay, I'm almost certain the game uses little to nothing inside the gta3.img folder. I replaced it with the same one from the PC version and no crash but no changes. Weird huh? I'm still working on getting the Delorean into the game but everything I have replaced so far has done nothing. It seems when you replace something with PC no changes happen but when you replace it with something from the app (Player.dff to lawyer.dff) the change occurs. Almost as if a back up is stored somewhere?
