Los Santos definitely covers more square footage, just as the sprawling Los Angeles metro area does compared to New York City. But just like the real cities, if you're wondering about the density of the downtown area, Los Santos proper is smaller than Liberty City.

Learn to read, the downtown area of Las Santos alone is almost as big as Liberty city, Los Santos will be bigger, learn to read before you type sh*tty posts, i really hope English isn't your first language, because if it is, then sorry to inform you, but you have a terrible, terrible reading comprehension.

Honestly, after getting swept up in all the AC3 hype, I hope R* hides stuff like this from us. Ubi gave away waaay too much during pre-release promotion IMO, by the time I got the game nothing really felt new anymore.

 

R* does it the right way in this regard. It's certainly frustrating while you wait for release, but once you get it, its all worth it. Everything's so fresh & exciting.

I felt Los Santos was actually too small in comparison to LA, in San Andreas. But it didn't matter cause there were two other full cities! But since it is just Los Santos, From the screenshots I feel it is even more smaller. Only because there is no other cities. I am saying I rather speed through a street with it full of people than a open desert for 2 hours with nothing to do.

Edit: It's just frustrating reading some comments about, "Los Santos is smaller than LC" enough.

In that answer, by "Downtown LS is smaller than LC" they more likely mean that the density is much lower than it is in LC just like in real life Los Angeles compared to New York.

The question had no bearing on the answer given. Just because you call it nonsense doesn't mean it is. The interviewer asked about the size of Los Santos without countryside and smaller towns but the man gave an answer about Los Santos Metro which includes countryside and small towns. That is a fact. Not an opinion.

 

He didn't answer the question.

 

And the map isn't bigger than SA's, RDR's and GTAIV combined, land space wise. That figure includes the sea floor and interior space. Not to s--- on the map size because I'm sure it's beyond huge. Just correcting your small mistakes because as evidenced by your (incorrect) interpretation of the quote being discussed it's the small mistakes that make all the difference.

You do realize that they can include a sparsely populated suburb a mile north of the observatory in their area calculation of Los Santos, right?

Do you realize they haven't even shown south Los Santos, one bit yet? Franklin is from South Los Santos, so they will have it in the game. Really all i've seen city wise is downtown, bits and pieces of hollywood and beverly hills nothing more. I haven't seen one good bit of nothing from Compton.

The reason some of you think LS is small is the fact they have shown multiple angles of the same LS skyline with the skyscrapers. They haven't shown other areas yet because they want you to experience new areas on your own 1st play of the game.

There isnt much of South LS !!!!...FFS..its bordered by mountains. R* have rushed the city and concentrated on the countryside. The CBD is very close (30 seconds drive) to the beach...for gods sake . Its about 2/3 the size of LC.
