GTA_La_Costra_Nostra
No their far along, they've worked on this since 2008. (or at least according to the promotional posters). I think their in post-production stages. Fixing glitches, adding mini-games, adding articles of clothing. All smaller detail stuff.
PsyQo
I think they don't have a date yet, cos they don't know if it's going to launch in the start of Spring og in the end of it.
United_Stealth
I think there is a very small chance of a delay. They just said spring so they'd have a few months of room to finish the last few little things and all the big things are done. If they don't make it to fix the last few things, they'll fix it in a patch.
I Shot The Sheriff
It was already delayed, it's just that it happened before the release date was revealed. The conference calls showed that the game was to be released around October, but it didn't happen. Now, I don't expect it to be delayed again, I believe they gave the Spring '13 date as a conservative schedule so they could still meet it if anything goes wrong. EDIT: lol I seem to have missed the point of the topic. I guess it's just a very big project, it's not that the development is in an earlier stage than we think. Trund
What's the big deal with the release date? The way they are doing it is the right way. By leaving the release date open within a 3 months timespan, they can always see and decide how they are progressing, and move the release date to one where they know they'll be done for sure. See it like this: At the moment R* knows they will be done anytime between March and June 2013, but they're not sure when exactly they'll be completely happy with it. If they'd announce a release date on, lets say end of March, and in a month they'd figure out "oh I think we need a month more", they'd have to move the release date backwards, and everyone will be disappointed and start being even more annoying, and so on.... Chekoloco
R* will tell us a release date, when they finished solving bugs, and etc.. So be patience.

epicluca
That's why it's set for Spring 2013 and not a set date.
OGIamLoco
they won't have a date until production can guarantee at least 5 million+ copies can be in stores by that date. and that won't happen until everyone is satisfied the game is finished and handed off to them. I'd say by the look of the two trailers, they are doing fine.
tjerome
For that all we know they could have a release date already set but they just haven't announced it yet for any given reason. It was internally delayed already and I'm confident that they wouldn't have announced spring 2013 if it was a possibility that it would be delayed again. killahmatic
Its part of R*s process. My guess is that they believe they'll have the game ready by April, but without releasing a date, they get the chance to push it to June without lying to fans. Its nothing new. Its playing it safe. Druffmaul
One thing that stood out to me in the GI article was how many times they'd ask about some basic major aspect of the game (like the Wanted system) and Dan Houser would say "We're still working on that." Because that, I don't exactly have complete confidence they'll make spring 2013. I wouldn't bet money on a delay, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised. Well, for one, "still working on that" can mean a number of things. It could already be set to go but they may still have a few ideas that they're trying with it. Secondly, did they ever say when interview took place? I dont know if a date was mentioned, but if not, whos to say they didn't have this interview a couple months ago, and many of those things could've been completed by now. Finally, theres still 5-6 months until release, its no surprise that they're still working on the game, basic features or not.

You act as if I said his comments in the interview PROVE it will be delayed. All I'm saying is that for a game that's supposedly going to be released in only 7 months at most, it makes me nervous that they're still hammering out so many basic central mechanics. For a game of this scale and scope, that's not a lot of time to finish "working on" how things will work and then implement/test/bug find & fix. GI announced when they were going to R* HQ to conduct the interviews, it was like the second week of Oct.
Trund
Well: Just remember GTA4. First previews came out in July 2007, and R* showed off nearly everything already. Yet a half year later in the next Previews, everything suddenly had changed and was different. I think R* just doesn't want the same thing to happen again, and really want to show previewers only the things that they actually have finished already. Start worrying if there's no release date by February. But until then it's all going smooth.
gottafeedthebeast
They better get it out in the spring or Michael might look
Bent
I look at it this way......................... The longer they spend developing it and fixing bugs and glitches and all of that sort of thing the better the game will be. Least thats what im hope-ing. Beee
they don't wanna make the same mistake, as they did with GTA IV. Thats probably why they waited so long to just even mention a time of year we can expect it, and still securing that they have a few month to run with in spring.. AtomicPunk
We just don't know. There's a reason that after all this time, there still is not a concrete release date. It will probably get delayed 'til october 2013, and that would suck. I hope not, though. I think we've waited long enough. It's time to move on. dirtycopVCPD
Games usually don't have an exact release date until a few months before they come out anyway.
Nasir_Jones
No there was already a delay, there in the finishing touches stage. Clothing, mini games, some textures, Bigfoot (hopefully). I think there won't be another delay, I think that they are where they want to be (:
Cutter De Blanc
I think at this point they're just polishing up the diamond. It's in playable form now, but they're just improving upon it till it comes out. But I dunno!
Signal1
With V set to launch this Spring, but still without an official date, is R* further behind in devolpment than we think? No. I thought all along that they are behind. If they were on track that would have set a release date. They are still working on the game (Not polishing as many thought) This was confirmed from many interviews. One example is they havnt finished vehicle dynamics
