DickDastardly
Bought the GTA IV from steam during a sale, installed and thus far unable to start a new game it has either gone into the introduction movie which I have either watched or skipped then goes onto the loading screen (black screen with loading font on bottom right of screen) then does nothing, Task manager says "game is not responding" I have no mods installed or anything like that I've not even been able to start a new game. Please help!
lydianduck
Well, you'll have to post your specs first.

lydianduck
I think you have an integrated graphics card, which is not supported by the game.
monster875.
naah, looks like it's a dedicated GPU. but anyway, it's pretty low-end to run IV also, u didn't post ur full laptop specs, but since u gave us the manufacturer and model we can find it ourself:P CPU is the Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 and the OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. i just think it's only the GPU which is causing issues, because it seems that the CPU is good enough for IV to run kinda good on low-med
Red Hat
Did you update your GTA IV with Patch 1.0.7.0 ? If no click here and the download the file then update it.
marmoo
Desktop version of the 4650 runs game at medium settings at around 30 FPS with a few drops in performance on certain areas of map when combined with Core 2 Duo at 2.8ghz. Not sure about the mobility version of that card but surely it is enough to get game loaded

Not sure about the mobility version of that card but surely it is enough to get game loaded dude, mobility version is always lower in performance than the non-mobility. their clocks and shader units is way lower, therefore, less performance. marmoo
But my point is that surely the game will load with that card.Performance may be another matter and only low settings can be used but that card has enough juice to get the game loaded
monster875.
yes, it should load the game. but maybe it's just his drivers or something f*cking up the game so it just crashes
