Been considering it for a while but been doing a bit of research and seems there's alot of problems with download not working etc.

 

And with GTA IV being deal of the week on marketplace I had hopes of a reduced SA which isn't the case.

The main problem I read about was basically it didn't work after download. Is it worth the hassle or would I be wiser not to bother don't want to buy msp for if it's not gonna work.

 

And I'm not into pc gaming so no steam suggestions thanks.

I suggest only buy DVDs but they don't work on the xbox 360.

I have beat San Andreas 100% on the 360. It is worth it. It runs perfectly, no problems. Just getting.

I have two 360's, one I bought in 2007 and the Slim which I bought in 2011.

I have the DVD version.

It works perfectly on both systems.

I bought my Xbox off my friend in August 2010 and I downloaded it from the marketplace. Runs fine.

A legit GTA SA dvd should run fine on Xbox360. I bring my disc over to friends houses all the time to play multi-player [only Xbox and 360 has multi without modding] and it runs fine. Maybe Lil Weasel is thinking of PS3, very few PS3 counsoles has backwards capability.

The ONLY reason for it not to work on any Xbox 360 console is due to a FAKE hard drive installed in the console.

 

It happened to me and its an easy fix, all you need is the transfer cable. Fake drives are missing the second partition which has the backwards compatibility software.

 

It's a shame that it's not more well known since it makes people believe it's down to a dodgy download when really it will work fine on any console (as you'd expect)

 

So yeah don't worry, even if your drive is an eBay knock off you can still workaround it.

I've been playing it on my 360 the last few days. It works mostly well. Occasionally you'll have minor graphical and audio glitches but these are brief and rare. The biggest problem is the controls. It takes a while to get aiming down. Personally, I think the aiming controls completely suck and it will really irritate you during missions with a lot of combat. Other than that, it runs well and I would recommend it.
