Wow dude haha. He was being pretentious so I called him out on it. Yes, you pointed out that the Assassin's Creed series has been rushed so you were right in that aspect, but if you must know FarCry 3 was actually delayed, so the whole "rush" thing is kind if irrelevant to FarCry 3. Maybe you should also consider appreciating quality games over games being released on an annual basis only to rip you off with minor updates.

You didn't need to post those links mate, i know everything about this game, i'm going to buy it, i know Ubisoft doesn't always rush thier games but they do it a lot unfortunely, i like almost every game they released, but i wish they'd take thier time with games instead of rushing them to the market.

I haven't played Far Cry. Does it have 2 maps like Fallout 3 and Skyrim? For example, there is the world map and then you have another map that gets filled in as you find places.

I could care less considering I am playing on an SDTV anyway since I still can't afford a decent sized HDTV. Sure 13-19 inch ones are affordable but I doubt it would make reading subtitles and other text much easier.(text in some games very difficult to read non SDTVs) due to the small screen size.

Is that issue on both consoles or is Far Cry 3 having issues with one of the consoles? That might be relevant to which platform I buy GTA V on.

 

Edit: Nevermind, the X360 version. Think I'll go for the PS3 then, which was what I was thinking of going for either way.

I would not jump to that conclusion right away. Gamersyde simply doesn't have the PS3 version yet. But in Youtube videos both versions seem to suffer from this. I would not be surprised if the 360 version turns out to be the better version. Also a comment on that video says this, so again....don't make the decision yet :

 

 

 

Both console games are capped at 30fps, but unfortunately the only way they can achieve this is by turning off v-lock altogether. Both versions have pretty bad screen-tear 'episodes' and frame-rate - weirdly - takes a big hit on internal scenes. However, 360 gets closer to maintaining 30fps, with a 10-to-15 per cent performance advantage over PS3 in challenging, like-for-like scenes.

 

Screen-tear is the big dividing factor here, though. In our collection of test scenes, 360 on average typically tore less than 10 per cent of the console's 60Hz output - fewer than six torn frames in a second, as an average. On PS3, that zooms right up to 30 per cent, 20 torn frames. In the worst case scenario we measured, we saw screen-tear at 14 per cent on Xbox 360... a figure that ballooned all the way up to 43 per cent on the same video from PS3.

 

To me sounds that the 360 version clearly has the edge.

A friend of mine was told directly by one of his friends at Ubi that the PS3 version looked better and ran better. He's not a fanboy either. I'd rather play it on PS3 just because of personal preference. There is screen tearing in both console versions but it's not as bad on PS3. I'm just telling you what I was told. I've been playing it for 2 days now and I haven't seen any bad tearing or too bad of framerate problems and I've had some bitchin' explosions, fires, and shootouts while animals are running everywhere. The gunfire & explosions are soooo good in this game. Definitely a worthy contender for GOTY.

I thought it wasn't out in the US until December 4?

The map editor in FC2 was just amazing. Build your own game world and play in it!

If this game doesn't get GOTY(like I predicted many months ago), I'll be surprised. The main character is a yuppie, but it's still good. The graphics are great. I was at a temple in the jungle and I swear it was Tomb Raider all over again! If I may suggest a game to any of you open-world lovers, it would be this one. And hunting is fun. Especially with the bow.

 

And whoever said this is a sh*tty game: Dude, there's never been voice actors this good in any game before it. The animations are second to none. You may wanna play it.

The only other game you can use as a comparison is GTA IV or TBOGT because it was the last gta game that was made.

So based on that, it's a fair guess that this gta will be pretty damn near perfection.

Oh my god fanboys every where. Rockstar isn't the only gaming company that spits out AAA games for god sake. GTA is not thw only game out there. A fair comparrison would be far cry 3 and RDR GTA V and watch dogs.

I have to agree with OP, I'm also worried about the performance of this game. RDR had a lot of problems with shadows not appearing until you were really close to buildings and then being drawn on as you approach, lots of pop-up of cacti and tree leaves. The snow in Big Trees was flawed too, with the little white vertical lines in transition areas.

 

But okay, that'll have been 3 years past by the time GTA V comes out. But I recently played Max Payne 3 and it had even more problems. Lots of frame rate problems, textures not appearing or disappearing, and really obnoxious shadow effects on the peoples' faces. The last one is what really surprised me, because the character models looked great, but the dynamic shadows and lighting was horrible and looked really blocky. Considering this is Rockstar's most recent work, yeah I'm a little concerned when a game from 2008 performed better than one from 2012. I know it wasn't Rockstar North developing MP3, but they've got to share the same resources right? I don't know how it all works, but I've lowered my expectations for V in the meantime. If they can get a smooth frame rate and good shadows then I'll be relieved, but for now I'm cautious.

What? Max Payne 3 was smooth as hell on my PS3, never had any framerate drops or any pop-up, textures missing, etc. i'm sure the same goes for the Xbox 360 version too.
