I Shot The Sheriff
A big lol to this. Clear reference to the film, even the electricity cables in the upper background. Awesome, I gotta watch it.
ThisIsHorosho
it reminds me more of godfellas than anything! you know the movie with De Niro, Pesci and Liotta! ...there's a scene with the trunk too, but those suits GTAV better, because characters that GTAV portrays match those of Godfellas better... simonp92
Not new. This was mentioned by a couple of other members back when the artwork was first released- Also R* already did the trunk shot in Vice City. As for Jimmy looking like Nice Guy eddie: You're clutching at straws.
abottig
Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs are two of the best movies of all time. And, they both happen to be set in LA. And, Reservoir Dogs is about a heist.

Honest Bill
My favourite part about that Goodfellas scene is where they go to Tommy's mum's house, and then see the guy in the painting that resembles him.. And they all just start laughing about it.
Ryan
I think, your a moron. You're* The images are similar but I think it's just a coincidence. Robbing banks is obviously not a new genre nor is the involvement of multiple protagonists.

MWC
and if you flip the the image horizontally it might turn out that Michael is a snitch and a cop lol, because Mr. Pink(Steve Buscemi's character in reservoir dogs) turns out to be an undercover cop if i remember correctly

Mokrie Dela
Nice fine indeed Rockstar have a history of taking inspiration from films - vc an scsrface for example, and in v will be no different. I wonder if we can get any more hints from these films... Plus Michael madsen (can't remember his colour) was in gta iii The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. I mean, the guy looks like he was born to rat people out. But you'd be wrong.
Johnny Playert
I think its just a reference to the long cliché tradition of this shot being used in crime cinema. Exactly. lol @ people saying 'nice find!'
AbAeterno
The trunk shot was used in Vice City too. Reservoir Dogs has lingered in every movie and GTA game since it was released. I'm not trying to be condescending, but I'm sure people know that Tarantino's films are kind of inspired by the same 70s cinema that inspired the Housers. CJ killed Ryder
Rockstar have a history of taking inspiration from films - vc an scsrface for example, and in v will be no different. V will be different. Dan Houser said they no longer do it in the HD-era, I think. Unlike the III-era, the HD-era has less references to films, even though there was a Midnight Cowboy-reference in IV. JoeM
It's the classic Tarantino Trunk Shot, ...and I'm also deeply saddened by how many people here didn't notice that, now I feel old. Thats what I was thinking lol.

RED_
The similarity is uncanny. Even down to the characters. I haven't seen the film so is th guy on the left the head guy? The guy who does all the planning? And is the guy on the right a crazy nutjob like Trevor? If so they're even in the correct position. Edit: Should've read the thread before posting. Trunk shot.. The Notorious MOB
While it's true that this is a commonly used shot in a number of films I think given the corresponding occupations and number of the men in the artwork and RD scene it is is most likely a homage just like the scene in "Rub Out" in VC was to Pulp Fiction. The three characters also share similar personalities and backgrounds to the three characters in the film. Michael like Mr. White is the veteran bankrobber with a heart who takes another character (Franklin/Mr. Orange) under his wing, Trevor like Mr. Blonde is the psychopath who leads a life of crime purely for the excitement he probably has a list of convictions as long as his arm but still remains undeterred from commiting crimes and Franklin like Mr. Pink is cynical and arguementative and has no particular wish to make friends with other criminals. Not to mention the similar locations and the telephone pole in the background. Edited November 29, 2012 by Money Over Bullshit
