LotusRIP
I've had a couple of problems I've noticed now I'm playing IV again... the animations are way too long and dragged out. I know they were going for realism. But plenty of times I die in multiplayer, because my character is still "in motion" after I've hit triangle to get into a vehicle and speed off. Not only this, but have you noticed how when you jump (as any character) the protagonist seems to float and become anti-gravity? I seriously hope they fix all this in V. When I hit triangle to get in a car, yeah it takes time realistically, but that doesn't mean slack off and be slow like a grandpa. And when I hit Square to jump, the character should jump in the air and fall back to the ground rather quickly - like in real life. Not this anti-gravity kneecap float thing. Grr Does anyone else share these problems? Especially the animation speeds of getting in and out of vehicles, they need to be tightened up so it feels like the character is actually trying their fastest and "on the move". ccrogers15
Think thats bad? Play Fallout New Vegas then get back to me. Almost 100% of the time you die, its because that retard character you use has the WORST animations of all time. He reloads slow as hell, every time he gets shot he flys all over the place, that game is a mess. GTA IV has bad animations yes, but not nearly as bad as Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas. The character reloads slowly if you don't upgrade your "Guns" or "Energy weapons" skills. I don't recall to fly everytime I get shot, only with explosions, but I have to agree in that if you use VATS sometimes your character doesn't do sh*t, he/she freezes. Not technically fly, but i mean his animations when his arms or legs get crippled. He wont stop doing the animation and it can get ugly fast if you get crippled again while that first animation is playing.
Ferocious Banger
RDR didn't have drivable cars but it was better than IV in almost every other department, including the animations.
