I want to know if you guys have any kind of addiction. Drugs, alcohol, a TV show, a videogame, scratching your balls...

Also, tell me/us if you had one, and how did you got over it.

We all have our own "vices" mine would probably be the addiction I have to my phone, I swear to Christ I check the thing thirty to forty times a day and I'm not even doing anything with it. I'm not even sure why I do it but it's like a reflex now more then anything "nothing to do, I'll just reach into my jean pocket and check my phone for no apparent reason".

I smoked cigarettes [heavily]for about 30 years. I successfully quit in August without much effort.

Oh and I have a hardcore Donkey Kong (original arcade) addiction. Been well addicted since like '82 and I'd have to say I play at least once a week at minimum.

Congratulations man, my mother's smoked for about thirty five years now and I've almost got her to quit, do you find your quality of life to have increased since giving up the "smokes" or would you like to go back to them ? it's always nagged me wondering what ex smokers think of cigarettes.

Same here, amigo. I'm also addicted to trains.

Hmm ... not in any particular order:

  • Coca-cola
  • Flamin' Hot Cheetos
  • Cracking my knuckles/joints when I'm not doing anything
  • Finding new music
  • Reese's Buttercups/Pieces
That's really all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure there's more ...

Man it feels great. More energy, I can taste and smell, I enjoy breathing - you really have no idea how much smoking effects smell and taste until you give up smokes.

My wife still smokes and I love the smell of her fresh burning cigarette. inlove.gif I'm not one of those ex-smokers.

I loved smoking, but I will not go back. I realized they aren't required for my life and even though they are a drug the high just isn't enough of a high to justify continuing to smoke.

If you want to - tell your mother I swear by the gum.

I'm also addicted to milk. I can't give up that cow sh*t.

Hell yeah. Whole milk only though, I dunno why anyone puts up with semi-skimmed or worse when that white gold is available.

Will do, thanks for the clarity man - I've always thought that smoking must have some kind of effect on your senses (particularly smell and taste) it's good to hear that you're enjoying life without them, I've heard that people can literally brake down without their daily intake of cigarettes.

Another addiction that I've developed is this forum, seriously I don't know if it's the friendly nature of the guys and girls down here or what but it's certainly a place I check on a daily basis. No other forum's had that effect on me. Oh and Tetris, definitely Tetris ....

Im drinking skim milk right now actually, but only because it works better with the protein powder I use. 2% is much tastier though, but skim on itself is not too bad.

I have a Internet and marijuana addiction

Coca-cola

I broke a 3-year addiction to coke this year, at its height I was drinking ~24 cans a week, usually warm for convenience. barf8bd.gif

I usually don't drink more than a can or two a day. It's just always been my non-alcohol drink of choice (besides water). smile.gif

Not anything I can't kick. I could say I'm addicted to Facebook and Youtube to a certain extent, but I have gone at least a month without either of these and within the first week, I quickly stopped caring. Every once in a while I got anxious to check my Youtube subscriptions, but I just put it out of mind and carried on.

God damn, now I want one of them. Ice cold inlove.gif

My addiction would have to be smoking. I'm a sucker for a really well made roll.

Also, I'd have to say that I get pretty sh*tty without the internet. When I went to London for the meet earlier this year, I was without proper internet for far too long and just wanted to hug the sh*t out of my PC as soon as I got home.

I'd say I'm pretty heavily addicted to weed, I've smoked every day for over a year.

I fairly recently started smoking cigarettes, it depends how much on whether I'm at college or not.

I crack my joints non stop, particularly my toes, back and neck, I can't describe how relaxing it feels.

Have you ever thought on quitting?

I'm not telling you to do it, but has it ever crossed your mind?

Maybe in the future?
