MGSFAN612 Posted November 28, 2012 Share Posted November 28, 2012 Not much besides it was being made(which was obvious since the franchise is still extremely profitable) and that is coming out this Spring which was already obvious after there being no release date announcement by the end of August. The protagonists also seem very interesting and it does look like it will be a great game. Other than that it has been a bit disappointing. I thought they said there would stuff to spend money on in this game yet we can't buy businesses, create crime empires or buy houses so I would really know what we can spend money on other than weapons and hospital bills.(hospital visits did consume a lot of my money in IV but it isn't exactly what I had in mind as a way to spend money ) I am also a little ticked off that i haven't received my copy of IGN with the GTA article yet(I ordered it on the 16th) so I feel really uninformed in terms of overall info on the game. so that may also be feeding my disappointing even though it isn't Rockstar's fault. I'm not getting it on PC because I don't have a PC that could run it but I still want it to be released. I thought I was a pessimist, until I came on these forums. There's been a lot of sh*tty posts all over the place recently. Anyways, best news I've heard so far is a Spring 2013 release. That's all I have to hear. Other than that nothing I have "heard" has blown me away, rather what I have seen is very impressive Can you explain the dynamic events? I think I read somewhere giving the example of: A worker of a lawn service will be on the streets looking for a taxi/bus to work and later that day you might see him working on a lawn. Is that correct? No. In Red Dead Redemption they had dynamic missions which would trigger anywhere in the world. Some examples are, a guy would run to you and say his wife was kidnapped, you follow him a very short distance to where the bandits have her tied to a tree and shoot the rope. A woman would act distressed at the side of the road and ask for help, then when you approach, bandits attack you. They were quite basic, but it's easy to see how they could be expanded upon and made a bit deeper. The examples they gave for V, were a security van pulling up and you can choose to rob it, or you will pick up a hitchiker on the side of the road, or come across an abandoned car at the side of the road maybe a drug deal turned sour or something.. I'm only paraphrasing here but that's the sort of thing you can expect.. In RDR they happen indefinitely even after the story.. They happen all over the place and make it feel like the world is still alive. If they make a much wider variety of more complex, dynamic encounters, the game will be extremely imersive and just exploring the world becomes infinitely more fun, knowing that a situation could emerge at any time. They also should get Red Dead Redemption too. OT: I think I go with the map. I can't wait to travel it. I don't know if I should explore the city, countryside, ocean, or desert first.
