San Andreas running slow on my high end notebook

Ok, so i bought a new Notebook with the following specs:

Graphics card: nVidia GeForce 610M (2GB)

CPU: Intel Core i7-3610QM, 2,3 GHz

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bits)

(Can still run GTA IV in good speed)

I'm running gta on 40 FPS at Ganton, sometime 30 fps

Also when i go through clouds i get 30 fps

Why is this happening?

Check if something is running in the background.

Set Visual FX Quality to Low.

Or set the color depth to 16 bitby choosing a resolution that has x 16 at the end, but it's the last resort, as it will make the colors look awful.

Also, do you have a legit copy of the game?

Reference:

Just as a matter of reference:

USA manual: Advanced Display Option Page...

Normally the frame rate of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is capped at 30 frames per second. This option allows the game to go faster than 30 frames per second. Be warned that this will not magically make Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas run better, but may make your experience "more variable". We do not recommend un-locking the frame rate. If you have a fast machine, it is far perperable to increase resolution, detail options, anti-aliasing, etc. rather than trying to achieve a higher frame rate by un-locking the Frame Limiter. This will lead to a more variable game play experience.

GTA: San Andreas FPS Limit Adjuster Specify a custom frame rate limit for SA.

Frame Limiter Patch

Not really to do with the frame limiter but to do with the fact that it's a mobile graphics card/CPU probably, as GTA SA is single core. Try lowering the graphics settings, to like Medium.
