Nasir_Jones
So I have been reading a few topics about the possibility of a delay for the next gen consoles. Personally, i doubt that will happen, with all the money spent on marketing campaign and all the years of time and effort, im sure were still up for a spring release, but what I was thinking... Would a ps3 disc be compatible for next gen ps4 console? Or maybe a download in the PSN store that you're able to download? Just a few thoughts. I would be glad if gta V came out on the ps3 rather theb the 4, there would be a long wait and ive gone through enough waiting. Thoughts on Gta V being compatible with Next Gen console? Ps2 did it with the first ps3. Let me know what you guys think. Edited November 27, 2012 by XxGuapoBeanxX

uhugluesonofagun
1. Wait for PC Release 2. Max the game (If it still doesn't look good then go to step 3) 3. Put ICEnhancer/ENB in game and then make your self satisfied.

epicluca
Xbox yes, PS4 no. Sony are helping make this thing called HVD which can hold 6 TB of data, and it's rumoured the PS4 will use that.

Andreas
Well, if the next-gen consoles support backwards-compatibility then it's possible to play current-gen games on them and so GTA V. It depends on Microsoft and Sony in this case and not on the videogame developers. TheJasonGallant
LOL! There is something very important... They are not even talking about a next gen yet (Sony, microsoft) So, I don't think next gen is to any time soon.
Nasir_Jones
GTA 3/VC/SA work with current generation consoles? This topic has no sense If you did not read carefully, I said SA was playable on the first ps3 console. The slim has no backwards compatibility. The very first ps3 console was able to play ps2 games. Not to mention, they poured god knows how much into Blu-Ray. Then even more on top of that to make sure it became the dominant next generation disc based media. Nor will they pass up transferring the current hits over to the next. The market is just top high for it to be let down.
Bertanius
I reckon they will release the console versions, then the PC version sometime later on, and when next-gen is out, they will re-release GTA V again with 'PC-like' graphics. I'm just hoping there will be a PC version!
WhiskeyFoxtrot
Well, backwards replayability would be nice. It pissed me off how Sony started off with backwards compatibility on the PS3, then decided to remove it in later models. I missed backward compatibility when I upgraded to a slim because my old 20gb one died. I hope next gen consoles have backwards compatibility. fitbikesbmx
Possibly. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I think one of the reasons why the later versions of the PS3 don't support PS2 games is because of the different disc drives in the consoles. If the PS4 used the same disc drive or a similar version of it, then it should be easy to make it backwards compatible. The Xbox 720 on the other hand could go either way. killahmatic
SA transferred, so why not? Personally, I'll wait until the new systems drop $150+ before I spend my money on them... so by then i'll be waiting for the next GTA
THEBIGZED
There's no way to know for sure whether or not next gen consoles will have backwards compatibility. I think PS4 at least would support PS3 games, probably not PS2 or PS1. EDIT: Well, now that I think of it... It's unlikely anything other than PS3 will play PS3 games since the processor is weird and PS4 will not be a continuation of it. Trund
I'm quite sure you'll be able to buy GTA4+GTA5 as a "Super HD Collection" at some point for a new Console. Even though that's something I'd REALLY wish for the PS3 already, a GTA3+VC+SA HD Collection. Darn R* for not doing that!
