xWH1T30UTx
In America, speak English. They'll probably have some Spanish one-liners or something, nothing more. That's a bit unfair, don't you think? Real-life Los Angeles has a large diversity of cultures, races, and languages. (As does the rest of America.) Rockstar has said they really wanted to portray this within Los Santos. I'd be baffled if it was nothing more than a few one-liners, as that wouldn't really give the feeling of diversity and variety. DeafMetal
They have to if they wish to get you into the vibe of Los Angeles. In all honesty, I'm still surprised they didn't make a Mexican protagonist. It's freaking Los Angeles lol Two white guys and a black guy?
Stephan90
I´m spanish and I think the spanish that is on the Rockstar games sucks a bit xD. I wonder if the people who speak spanish in the game are really spanish people, even from Middle-South America. When actors were doing the voice work for Max Payne 3. I would have got them to do some pedestrian dialogue for GTA V. Although they would probably still have to pay them to use it in V. I wouldn't use people who are native Portuguese speakers to voice Spanish speaking people as they would have a strange accent. Not that I would personally notice the difference... Enchilada
I think it will be just like in RDR but instead of a mexico they have neighborhoods where it's spoken and random people. I just startet RDR two days ago and have not been to Mexico. Prepare for some good old fun in Mexico, and in the US for that matter. In my opinion the game is a masterpiece. I even would go as far as saying it is the best game ever. yes, it is the best game ever up until gtav multiplayer arrives

MikeMyth
There might be?....But in America, we use english. It is, afterall, a nordic-european country. I don't have any qualms with a little bit of spanish as long as the subtitles pop up while it's being spoken, unless it's cuss words because we know all of them. No. We had russian speaking peds. Plus almost everyone in America knows lower Cali and LA is full of mexicans. Considering it is right above Mexico. And, I honestly hope not. In those missions in Mexico in RDR the missions where the mission-givers speak Spanish it's incorrect. I think they actually used Google Translate, or had a terrible translater. If it is there, hopefully they got it right this time.
boxmonster
There were a lot of Spanish speaking peds in IV and also previous GTA games....V will be no different.. Indeed, Puerto Rican "baddass vegan" cop was everywhere, he was the cop that kept using Spanish phrases (no it wasn't a gang member attacking you). Were you under a rock, OP? This time it'll be Mexicans rather than Domincans and Puerto Ricans without a doubt.
killahmatic
There might be?....But in America, we use english. Yeah, that's not even close to true, other than it being the official language. Go down to LA sometime and see how many people are speaking spanish. you probably dont even need to make the trip, I live in Wisconsin and see people using different languages almost every time i leave the house

Yeah I forgot they speak Portuguese in Brazil. Still they could still have some Brazilian residents/tourists in L.A. I've met a few Brazilians in my country over the last few years & London is much further away. I should've said Spanish speaking actors from Red Dead Redemption. I'm sure R* have a massive database of unused voice work from previous games & more varied pedestrian dialogue is only a good thing in my eyes. Identical npc's & repeated dialogue can really kill the immersion in open world games. L.A. Noire suffered from this.

golf wang
Haha in certain parts here in LA, Spanish is like the main language. With billboard advertisements and all, it's like being in a Spanish speaking country. They should have areas like that in V.
Irrational
Considering the effort Rockstar went to have everybody speak Brazillian in Max Payne Buahahahhaha. Well, maybe it's better to think that we speak "brazilian" rather than spanish.
