Bitches_Brew
i think this is a great idea. modders/cheaters can all play with themselves in the same games without bothering the normal/skilled players. Question: How will I know if I’m in the Cheater Pool? Answer: If you know you have cheated and you find yourself either in empty lobbies or always matched with games full of other cheaters, you are likely in the Cheater Pool. If you know for a fact that you never cheated—yet you are having trouble finding games due to always being put into empty lobbies--this could be due to connection problems. In that case, we recommend the following article, which contains tips to improve connectivity: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/2...obbies?locale=1. Players in the Cheater Pool will also have stat submission blocked to ensure that only valid scores post to leaderboards. Question: What if someone reports me to Rockstar’s Banhammer but I didn’t do anything wrong… is there a chance I would end up in the Cheater Pool even though I’m innocent? Answer: All of the reports to Banhammer are reviewed manually, and we only take disciplinary action when there is clear evidence and documentation of the offense. Examples would include invincibility, infinite adrenaline, boosted XP scores, impossible in-game activity detected by our servers, or leaderboard scores that are impossible to achieve through legitimate gameplay. If you feel you were placed in the Cheater Pool unfairly, please contact [email protected] and provide your Social Club Nickname, Gamertag, or PSN ID along with a detailed explanation for why you think you might be in the pool. Question: Can I be placed in the Cheater Pool for camping? I was in a game and someone said Rockstar was going to ban me. Answer: You will not be banned for camping. Question: I was in a game and a player was using foul language and threatening other players. Can Rockstar ban players for verbal abuse? Answer: We do not have any way to monitor in-game chat or messaging that occurs on Xbox Live/PSN. If a player is verbally abusive in-game, this is a violation of Xbox Live and PlayStation Network Terms of Service. We recommend muting the player, blocking them, and reporting them directly to Microsoft or Sony. If you are being threatened or stalked and you believe that you may be in real physical danger, please contact local law enforcement. Question: What happens if I am in the cheater pool and my friends are not, or my friends are in the cheater pool and I am not. Will I be able to play with them still? Answer: No. Players who are not in the cheater pool cannot accept invites from those in the pool, and vice versa. You will see an error message that says "incompatible data." Question: I admit it. I cheated but I want to come clean and re-join the Max Payne 3 community. How long will I be in the cheater pool? Answer: We will post dates relevant to cheater pool and ban list revision on our Support Site: http://support.rockstargames.com/home If you are a cheater and we decide to take you out of the Cheater Pool, be careful – a second offense of this type will result in a permanent ban from Multiplayer and other online features! Question: I saw a cheater! How can I report him or her? Answer: To report a cheater, email [email protected] and provide: Platform (PC, PS3 or Xbox 360) Cheater’s Gamertag / ID Description of the violation Concrete evidence, such as a video or a screenshot Please note that we may not respond personally to all cheater submissions through [email protected]; please do not use this email for technical support or bug reports. If you are having a technical problem in one of our games, please visit our knowledge base (http://support.rockstargames.com/home) and submit a ticket if there are still any issues: http://support.rockstargames.com/anonymous_requests/new Question: I know a way to cheat. Does Rockstar want to know all the details? Answer: Yes. If you have exact steps to reproduce any mods, exploits, or glitches that give players an unfair advantage in Multiplayer, please email [email protected] and provide detailed evidence such as a link to a tutorial. http://m.rockstargames.com/newswire/articl...ol-is-live.html IMO, this is a win for both sides. cheaters don't get banned and the regular players won't have to worry about their online experience being ruined. i would like to hear how do the modders feel? Burner
The games with all the cheaters playing together have got to be really boring. Playing a shooting game online where everyone is invincible seems kinda pointless. I would take offense to modders being lumped in with cheaters, as there are plenty of mods that aren't cheats. But considering this is MP3, I assume there aren't many mods you can do to that game that wouldn't be cheating.. What if you wanted to play some of the cheat games sometimes where everyone has crazy weapons or something, and then play normal other? How would that work? IOW, pissing people off is what makes modding fun? i agree that there are mods that aren't cheats, but sometimes modding can freeze up the game and cause lots of lag. that ruins everyone's experience regardless if your cheating or not. to answer your last question... some people like to play the game normal. why would it be fair to let the modders decide if you can or can't? Starting today, anyone we've found using hacked saves, modded games, or other exploits has officially been cordoned off in a dedicated cheater pool, confined to wallow with other unscrupulous reprobates. http://m.rockstargames.com/newswire/articl...ol-is-live.html

You misinterpreted what I was saying. I was just pointing out that all the cheaters playing together have got to be really bored. And the type of modding I was referring to are cars/guns that are new to the game, like the cars I've made. Not all modding is of the code to allow infinite whatever. And my comment thus goes: I almost take offense to modders being lumped into the same category as cheaters. Well, I guess the word 'modder' anyways. Capisce? 2. See if I can make this any clearer.. What I was asking was, if you did want to play a game in the cheaters pool for the hell of it, then play a normal round with normal people without cheating.. , how would you go about that? Which this is a hypothetical question anyways, seeing as the way it is set up, you cannot do that.

Burner
By that rationale, if two guys who downloaded my cars, installed them in their game, and then played a game online with my cars would be cheating?
OGCFB
I'm a modder on the PC version of GTA IV and I have no problem with this idea because on the PC version there are a lot of modders besides me anyway and it isn't griefing people that makes it fun, it's being able to choose any character model in the game and spawn any vehicle as well as other stuff you wouldn't be able to do without modifications. If I ever want to play legit I just play on my completely unmodified PS3 version. One thing I will say though is that PC legit players might find it hard to find games since there are more PC players who play with mods on than there are who play with them off. jamieleng
I think R* have done it for the cheaters benefit. I mean where's the challenge in playing with cheats? This way they have out-cheat each other, therefore making the game challenging again (sort of). That's how I'd put it if I were R*, passive/aggressive. Oh well, thats for MP3. And as I said originally, there really isn't anything you can mod on that game that wouldn't be cheating, since it's just a shooter. Setting up a similar system for GTA V would be difficult, considering the amount of things that could be changed that would add no performance enhancements. 360/PS3 would be about the same as MP3, as no one really mods PS3/360 games to add new cars, so any mods would most likely be for cheating. Trying to control online matchmaking of modded games on PC would be a nightmare, since so many users download the new character skins/guns/cars for the GTA series. That's IF you PC guys get a port of V anyways

But it is way better than the alternative, cos if you got one invincible person with an aimbot buzzard against 10 'normies'... 1 person has a blast 10 people get their lobby ruined.
