Showstopper 26
First I want to say thank you Rockstar. This is brilliant and revolutionary. Do you think it'll be as simple as pressing a face button (Y, Triangle, etc.), or maybe tied to the dpad?
Hazelnot
How about Select/Back? Is it used for anything? Maybe it will be used to bring up the menu. Or maybe it'll be moved to the phone menu, like the Multiplayer.

Back/Select isn't used at all, and it would be better than using something like LB/L1, which you could hit really easily, and accidently change character. King Of Monra
Left analog stick (pressed down) could be used? I don't know if that is used for anything. the home button on the pc could be used for the same thing I suppose.
Showstopper 26
Shouldn't select be used for quick access to the map instead of having to pause and go into the menus? I hope switching characters is fast and intuitive as well. Going into the phone to do it i'm not sure woud be. This is something we'll be doing a lot and in the heat of missions...pausing the action continuously will break up the flow. Ironically enough, multiple protagonists is a mechanic built on eliminating downtime.

Smallo92
Weapon wheel on LB or L1 and Character Wheel on RB or R1. Or vice versa.
jamieleng
I imagine every button will have a use, or multiple uses, along with contextual uses. That's how complex GTA has become & I couldn't be happier.
AceHigh11
The down button on the d-pad? So your weapons are the left and right to cycle and up is still the phone.
xWH1T30UTx
It was confirmed that it is a radial menu, similar to the weapon wheel in Max Payne 3 or Red Dead Redemption. I imagine it will be brought up with RB/R1, and then the characters will be selected using the analogue stick. Here's a quick mock up of what this might look like: Click me! Granted, the menu could be brought up with any unused button, but the fluidity of using the RB/R1 and analogue stick combo worked really well in MP3 and RDR, I think. EDIT: Just realized it was LB/L1 to bring up the weapon wheel. Derp. My point still stands, though. Edited November 27, 2012 by xWH1T30UTx

It was LB/L1 in RDR. Had to look it up though. That button was used in IV for whistling a cab. In RDR, whistling for a horse was the up button. I imagine they would do something similar in V. Edit: I just saw your edit
