Pedestrians reacting to supercars?

In real life, let's say if someone is parking a Ferrari Enzo at a crowded area, what do you think will happen?

Most likely, people will pull out their phones and start taking pictures or at least say something about the car (such as: "Whoa nice car")

In GTA IV, it felt very unrealistic to park my Infernus next to a group of people who are looking somewhere else like nothing is happening.

The pedestrians' reactions towards super-cars would make the gameplay a lot more realistic.

Another realistic change could be the rareness of the super-cars. In GTA IV, Comets and Turismos were extremely easy to find for me. They were everywhere.

Wasn't that already in? If I remember, peds always had little comments on how you look (not sure about cars you drove).

In GTA IV peds reacted when you were driftingbut not when passing by. They scream some funny stuff at you.

I think its a good idea though, in real life people take pictures (this was in Saints Row 2 btw) and will just come lcoser to take a look at it.

Since these supercars and the almighty dollar is such a big thing, this is something to think about for GTA V!

Nah, only the girls you date: Kiki, Michelle, Carmen, Kate, and Alex commented anything about your looks and your car. It was like you didn't exist to the peds until you bump into them or start a rampage.

Ah yes! I see your point, a little bit of more attention towards your supercar would be cool.

in gta iv they used over 200 peds each to have ther own voices ,the amount of time & character reactions takes 1 hell of alot of work ,tho they do that with all gta games ,the Real question here would be !.

1. will they interact with other peds as well as gta iv

2.will they interact with us as well ,like your saying ?

well thats things we just dont know ,But looking @ trailer 1 the guy nudging of a deal thing?whatever

seems to make me think they have worked a TON on it & the part about the car reaction hmm again who would know this ? biggrin.gifbiggrin.gifbiggrin.gif

Yeah, it would take a lot of time but it will be a big improvement in the realism of the game.

I like how in the DLCs (TLAD & TBOGT) at least few of your friends knew who you were.

In example, The Lost gang members always recognized you (Johnny) and greeted you. Another one is Dessie, the doorman at the Maisonette 9, who always greeted you when you enter the club.

I would like to see some improvements on this in GTA V. Interacting with others & your existence to the peds.

yeah like in trailer 1 when the guy in the red car who i guess was supposed to be franklin revved the engine that ruca that was passing by looked at him. it would be pretty cool if these type of interactions happened like say for whatever reason you actually stopped at a stoplight and revved the engine maybe a guy in a nice fast car next to you would say something like "oh you wanna race huh"

and now that i think about it that would be a sick way to start street races

This idea is awesome, unfortunately I think we're still some years away of it.

Imagine Michael in a shopping all well dressed and the ladies looking at him or commenting on his looks, or youger girls flirting with Franklin or ... Trevor all stinky and needing a bath and people commenting that he is a bum or some psycho, that would be so cool. Reactions about what you drive, how you dress and how you behave near people.

Maybe someday.

Play Midnight Club Los Angeles.

Get an S600 and drive onto the sidewalk and sit there. There will be tons of compliments from the pedestrians. So it IS possible.

I think this is near future if you look at how quickly the AI evolves. Also a bit of wishful thinking. tounge.gif

I think there should be better reactions in general. Not just to supercars, but anything unusual. I've just been replaying GTA:SA and it's just odd that there is zero reaction if you turn up in the Grove with a supercar or something equally outlandish. I was bringing a tank to a gang war; they should be going, "Dude! WTF!!"

In GTA:IV, if you're in the middle of Three Leaf Clover and you whip out a rocket launcher, there should be some kind of reaction of disbelief from your crew. Instead, it's like ziltch, as though it's perfectly normal.

^^^Agreed. I've pulled out an SMG in a suburb full of people, peds just walked by like I was carrying a shopping bag.

Yes, it is very possible, if we could get to see in IV how some peds react when you pull out an AK from your pants, why not with cars? it's easy

These are the things i'm looking forward to in a new GTA game. Little details, like the different stuff pedestrians will say, sometimes hilarious and sometimes insulting but also realistic and believeable stuff. First thing in GTA V i'm gonna do is flip the bird at someone on the street, that is..if we can do that while walking, cause so far we've only heard about how you do that while in a car and also the screenshot he's in a car. But i'm gonna do that and i'm expecting to hear some hilarious things, lol. I'm of course also gonna bump into people and push them around..see how they react and what they say.

Yep, little details make a huge difference.

Won't happen because the second you find a rare car it starts appearing everywhere.

Yeah, that's a little glitch they had on GTA IV,

but I think R* is smart enough to fix a glitch over the 4+ years they have to develop the game?

Not a glitch, it has to do with memory usage. The theory is that if you just repeat the car that the player is driving in a certain area and just add 4-5 different brands in the mix as well it will save memory usage compared to having 100% completely different cars every time a player is near.

Ok, so the rareness of the cars can't be fixable(?), but the interaction between you and the peds can still be improved.

I think it'd be cool if dumbass kids in Honda Civics pulled up next to you and tried to race you. But even just having women say nice car or something would add a bit more depth to the world. But I'm not worried -- I'm sure Rockstar has thought of this and a bunch more to help make the world feel more alive. Whether or not the current dinosaur hardware can handle it all is a different question. Who knows how much they've had to cut because Sony and Microsoft refuse to move on to next gen and stop milking this one.

Yep, I'm sure R* has thought of it too. If we, as fans can think of this, then the hundreds of developers full of ideas must have thought of it as well.
