aurora419
F**k you Dan Houser <-- Click on this link I have supported Rockstar Games for the last one and a half decade buying every single game that they have released (even though I haven't even touched some of them). How does Rockstar repay the people that got them to where they are now? By giving us one disappointment after another. Believe it or not, Grand Theft Auto IV was an overrated pile of doo-doo. After waiting several months just to get it on the PC, they gave us a buggy, unoptimized game. Not to mention it was harder for a person to play the actual retail version than the pirated version because of the Rockstar Social Club and Games for Windows Live being a massive pain in the ass. Gee, I wonder why people pirate their games now? They make PC gamers wait several months for a buggy game and expect us to buy it? How dumb can they get? PC gamers have several resources that we can look into for community submitted reviews (instead of those bought out IGNorant crap) and we buy games worth buying. Following the same situation with IV, they will say, "We don't know about the PC version yet, there might not even be a PC version" and then announce the release of a PC version several months later. They will spend minimal amount of resources trying to optimize the game for the PC. When V gets released the majority of the PC community would pirate the game, Rockstar would notice that its sales on the PC aren't doing so great, and they would accuse us all of being pirates. It's ridiculous how Rockstar thinks we'll pay 60$ for a game that was released several months ago. I would have already played the game on a console over at a friend's house, or watched a playthrough of the game. The most recent example of a company identical to Rockstar is Ubisoft. About a month ago, the CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, called 90% of PC gamers pirates and that the market for PC games are moving more to the Free 2 Play genre. There was an uproar on the Ubisoft forums, because the reason why PC gamers weren't buying their games was because of their stupid DRM which made it so that you had to be connected to the server at all times (even for singleplayer games) and there were major connection issues. About a month later, Ubisoft announced that they will be getting rid of the DRM and that they're moving their games to be sold on Steam. What happened after that? Assassin's Creed III is now one of the most popular games sold on Steam. I simply cannot understand how companies like Rockstar think that they can get money out of us when the they treat their consumers this way. If it was the other way around, with the consoles getting the sh*tty ports and delays, console gamers would be pirating the games too. Yes, there is a way for consoles to pirate games. There always has been. So what do you guys think about this situation? Edited November 26, 2012 by aurora419
Adriaan
They make PC gamers wait several months for a buggy game and expect us to buy it? How dumb can they get? I think you're hung up on this one time thing with GTAIV that happened four years ago. I don't recall any other PC release of GTA being buggy. Relax. Things have changed. They've learned from the past, as is evidenced with the PC version of Max Payne 3. Sure, it may not release on same day as the console versions, but they're certainly not going to put a bad version out there.

Yes R* are practically identical to Ubisoft & only marginally better than Activision or EA. @Adriaan I've never seen a lawnmower get high off of grass. SARDYNA108
Yeah, they post from time to time on their newswire articles about 4 years old GTA IV only becouse of mods and videos created with the PC version but when it comes to release games on PC they are being assholes to us, I understand that PC version takes more time to do for many reasons but its really not so hard to confrim it being in development or TBA

They obviously haven't learned from their mistakes if they are "considering" releasing the game for the PC. They didn't announce the PC version for March release, and I highly doubt it will be released on the same date as the consoles. I'm not going to buy a game that's not brand new. It may not matter for some people, but it definitely matters for others (including myself). It would be extremely difficult to avoid spoilers from friends that have already played the game, and anyone who cannot wait for GTA V would ruin it for themselves by watching videos of gameplay on Youtube. Also, Max Payne 3 was s**t. I bought it on the Steam sale just yesterday, played a couple hours of it and stopped playing. Its extensive cutscenes are extremely boring, and I feel like I'm watching a boring movie that I don't even want to watch, and I can't skip either. Dragonjack
I surely think that Grand Theft Auto V is coming to the PC version soon in 2013 or sometime in 2013 and i'm surprised that Rockstar didn't announced the PC version aswell. But as what Adriaan mentioned in his post? Yeah things have changed alot against Rockstar honestly.

Every main GTA for the last decade has released on PC some months after the console version. I've bought every single GTA game at launch. Every GTA game in the last decade? I don't think so. GTA III and Vice City didn't have a delay. Vice City I remember had an issue at launch and was delayed slightly, but they didn't purposely delay the PC version since Vice City and previous titles like they are doing now. With GTA IV, I had major performance issues with BSOD and sound bugs at launch. I held off on playing that game for at least a month until a patch came out. Even with the performance bugs improved, GFWL and Social Club was an amazing pain in the ass so I decided to torrent a pirated copy just to play the game properly. Adriaan
Click on the link that I provided. They obviously haven't learned from their mistakes if they are "considering" releasing the game for the PC. You misunderstood the article. Or rather, they misunderstood the original question and answer. Scroll down to my article, where I say: http://www.gtav.net/news/4491/no-gtav-is-n...wii-u-currently I just wanted to say, read the question again. It wasn't directly related to PC but, instead, the "PC, Wii U and so on". I am confident that had IGN just asked about the PC version alone, the answer would have been different. I recently had the opportunity to get in touch with another publication that went to preview the game. When they asked Rockstar about a PC version, which you'd expect they would, Rockstar didn't have an answer for them. It makes sense really that Rockstar didn't announce a PC version just yet. Just that, it seems like it won't release on the same day as the console versions next Spring. Let's say they even do plan on releasing a PC version 1-3 months after console release, it would have been difficult announcing a release date as they currently don't have a specific target date yet for the console versions even, other than "Spring 2013" - meaning, somewhere between April-Jun of 2013. And yes, the back-end of March forms a part of Spring; however, parent company Take-Two specifically said that the game is releasing during the company's next financial year, which starts on April 1st. brian.
I am sure that it will come to PC. Max Payne did. I am one of many people who started out on GTA with GTA III on PS2 and refuse to play it anywhere but PC now. I'm sure a large segment of the market is dedicated to PC, and PC is only becoming stronger and stronger. It is probably just better for them to maximize console soft sales and then announce pc after a while, like they did with GTA IV.

S1LV3R_W0LF
Just relax damn it, let the guys work now. I saw more then enough evidence that a PC version is already done along with consoles, won't be released same day for a matter of Marketing and sales strategy, but won't take another half year and won't be a port again, I won't explain why I say this again, but thats what I understand and I believe it will happen. Think how Max Payne 3 was, GTAV will be about the same. Only with the difference that Christmas is coming and they wanna sell most consoles possible. You can sign on petitions if you think it helps, you can leave your opinion, but don't start of these bitching/ rage threads, it's pointless and you'll make other people mad even when they weren't. We already waited 1 Year, a few more months will be just half of that, meanwhile distract with something else.
