I have made a post about this before, but now that we have all seen the second trailer and the new screens. I wanted to ask who will use cheats before beating the game. With every GTA I've played, I used cheats before i beat it. I didn't use cheats because I suck or it's easier. I used them because it was Grand Theft Auto and the cheats were fun to use in missions. It's not like GTA is the most serious game in the world or something. Even in GTA 4, i used cheats, but only the weapons and no cops cheat. GTA 5 will probably be the first GTA I beat without cheats. What about you? Will you wait until after you beat it, use cheats in the story, or never use them because you're an elitist?

I only do cheats that don't give me an advantage, in fact the only cheats i would use are the cheats that give peds weapons.

GRINCH ASS BITCH

I'll most likely cheat before beating the game. I never really cared about virtual supremacy/elitism in regards to video games. If it's fun, you're damn right I'll do it.

The Unknown Man

I play the story without cheats, but while doing it I will use cheats sometimes when playing around, but I will not save the game after that, so it won't affect the story.

I make two separate saves one for just doing whatever and one for story mode

This icon14.gif This is exactly what I do. Many others do this too.

The Scottish Guy

I always make sure I beat any GTA game without cheats first. I really don't get people who cheat as soon as they get the game (or any game for that matter). It totally destroys the original experience that R* intends for us.

I'll beat the story missions before I cheat, then i'll play the missions again, but this time cheating (honestly i usually do better when i dont cheat, probably because i try harder not to get shot).

Then in free roam i cheat all the time.

I've noticed the same thing. Cheats can lead to laziness and you take more risks because you know you can put in a cheat.

But if a mission really pisses me off, I may use cheats to complete it. But for the most part I try to go through the story without using cheats too much.

...i will resort to using cheats or any other kind of exploits, that would let me get through frustrating missions, that i won't be able to complete after 10 tries...to be honest i don't like failing at all, not even once! ...i'm getting bored of trying and start losing my hope after like 3rd or 4th retry!...so if this will be the case with GTAV missions then i'll have to use cheats, that could help me finishing it and put my frustration to rest!...

The only cheat I used in SA was rocketman. I think I used hesoyam a couple of times, but it was after the story was completed.

Bottom line, I have more fun using cheats than not.

I will use cheats.

I may have a separate save for such cheats or limit the cheats. Not sure until I play this installment.

I'm not likely to walk/jog/run 5 miles to steal a sh*tbox after my cheetah exploded. I'll spawn a new one.

I like wicked weapons fairly early on. I'm impatient.

Some missions require the terminator to take the place of my character, you probably have more time to play games than me and I want to get on with the story instead of dieing 40 times in a row. Losing makes me sad, cheating I'm indifferent.

As soon as the new cheat list drops, I will for sure try them all. So sign me up for heavy cheating with 48 hours of the game being released.

Finish the game and then cheat. But now that the whole map is open before completing the game, I may do two saves, one for story and one for f*cking about in.

I basically only use three cheats...... 1) Health...2) Money... 3) Weapons. And yes, I cheat as soon as I discover the codes. I don't care about doing it.

That's what I'm going to do too. I'm impatient, so when the cheats go up, I'll put them in. I don't care either.

The Bus Driver

Really depends what I'm doing. If I'm just planning on smashing things up I don't mind using a cheat, if I'm doing missions though I'll usually not.

Only exception, if a mission isn't that fun and I have to do it more than one or two times for crashing or whatever reason, I really don't think I'm missing much by cheating. lol.

I'm definitely one for trying cheats AFTER I beat the game but not immediately after. I try to not use cheats until pretty much everything is addressed map, car, plane. weapon wise. I'm debating whether or not to even attempt cheats in V but only time will tell. devil.gif

Sometimes when I need that extra push (if I die more than once) I use invincibility or health. And when I lose my patience I use money/spawn cheats. Doesn't make a difference to me honestly.

Yeah, separate save is probably the way to go. Love games where you can just ruin everything you've worked for in 15 mins and then just turn it off again. Sim City springs to mind more but yeah. xD

I'll sometimes us a health cheat in missions, and I'll also use cheats a lot in free roam. I personally don't have these boundaries against using cheats so I don't care whenever I use them. It's not going to "ruin the experience" rolleyes.gif

Prepares for stupid flamers.

I may try the cheats before i complete the game, but not save it. If there's a cheat for a fast car that i have already got and saved in my garage, i may use that cheat during the story, just so i don't loose the car when on a mission (many missions you loose vehicles because of needing to drive other ones etc...), unless the vehicle save mechanic has been improved, like permanent vehicle save points which respawn if destroyed.

I recently played the story's for GTAIV, TLAD and TBOGT, using cheats all the way through, as i didn't want to waste time collecting/buying guns, redoing missions all the time (they were relaxed playthroughs so did not care for difficulty), and i got to use the Comet whenever i wanted, which did get kinda boring after a while lol.

Now i'm playing through San Andreas on PC, and seen as i can't find any decent mods that i want (i'm using steam version 3.0, most mods don't work on this version), like vehicle spawner or coordinates display (for scripting vehicles to locations i want them to spawn), i decided to use more cheats than i ever have done during the story playthrough, like lower wanted level after/during missions, flying cars when finding vehicles for export (so much easier to get to certain locations), and weapons cheats.

Anyone think the vehicle spawning cheats in San Andreas were limited in terms of cars? like the only performance cars you can spawn are the hotring racers, i want a Cheetah, Turismo or Infernus cheat god dammit lol. (mainly the fact that i cant use vehicle spawn mods is why i want better cheats lol)
