Vehicle Horns Should Be Right

In every GTA game, R* gets some vehicle horns wrong. I could never get past the Ford LTD-style car having a Honda Civic horn. A motorcycle with a car horn. An 18-wheeler with a small car horn. The list goes on and on. How does something like that get lost during developement? Surely R* researches this? I was just wondering what some of you here think about it, so lets discuss it since the forums are a little dead/slow right now.

i'll absolutely agree that horns have never been good in GTA. Its one of those little things that have always annoyed me, but I figured we'll always have to deal with that.

How about a game design series revolving around RAGE's new groundbreaking revolutionary vehicle horn system? I hope R* tone down the graphics to make way for the new realistic vehicle horns.

the second trailer had very good sounds, maybe they took a step further in that aspect in gta v

The trailer uses custom sounds like other GTA trailer so i'm no so sure

I hope they cut down the whole game from development and just make a still car picture with a super ultra realistic horn.

 

They should spend 5 years developing a new horn engine.

 

It would replace the RAGE engine, and now that they have discontinued the GTA series they will make GTH. Grand Theft Horn where you go around honking at cars with ultra realistic horn sounds!

I don't think it would use up too much more memory to use better sounding, realistic car horns, but that's not where my complaint lies. My problem is when a big car has a little road runner' meemp meemp' sounding horn, or a 18-wheeler has a small toyota car horn. How do they not know what horns are assigned to different sized vehicles? It's as rediculous as a train horn on a motor cycle(not that it's happened) but I think it is important to some degree. The same with gun sounds(after hearing Far Cry 3's guns---WOW!!!).

 

Then we have the car sounds that suck in GTA. If I get into a hotrod, I want it to sound bad a$$. The same with a pick-up truck. How 'bout when we take off in a small car, it actually sounds real, instead of like a Gamecube racing game. I think R* needs to work on all of their sounds.

I don't think this has been too much of an issue... when I go into big cars in GTA IV they tend to have deep sounding horns, and vice versa for smaller, 'puny' cars. Expectations tend to be fulfilled on my part.

I defiantly could be more horny in gta. I just kind of hope they improve that.
