daley86
i know this will be met with the usual keyboard warriors disagreeing because it's cool. however, my question is - does everybody think that the magazine article and a trailer can be classed as lots of info as they stated at the end of last month? maybe its not a bad thing to be honest. Shreddy Krueger
It's a lot more than they were giving out the previous 10-12 months. I'm content with what was provided.
Saracen7
I thought the same, but ultimately I'm glad because I don't want to know everything right out

Trund
I think they let out the big news way too early. Obviously the three characters and new way to play the story is the biggest innovation in GTA5, and I doubt there will be anything else in the game that has such a big improvement. They should have kept this a secret for a longer time, considering this game is still a half year away.

omeromer
I just saw this on the newswire: Max Payne 3 Painful Memories DLC Coming December 4th The only reason that bothers me is because I fear GTA V will also be full of stupid little DLC's like this. Andreas
After all Rockstar Games and Dan Houser said the truth about not releasing too much info prior the release of their games. http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/03/22/max...yer-reinvention[/url'>]We made a promise not to talk too much about forthcoming games until a little further down the track but, yes, crews will feature in Grand Theft Auto V multiplayer. “Why don’t you give us more news?” – received via Mouthoff As we have said before, we have often had long gaps between asset releases on previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if you find this frustrating, but please understand, we don’t do this because we ‘don’t care about our fans' 'don’t respect our fans’ 'hate GTA fans etc' – precisely the opposite! We do it because we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it. The only things we care about are that you enjoy the experience of actually playing the game and that we release accurate information. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/feature/1349...tar_does_it.php]In this rare interview, Houser outlines how the company makes its decisions -- from booting Max Payne into the future to deciding not to give players much of a window into its games prior to their release. And also there are a lot more quotes from Dan Houser and Rockstar Games but I couldn't find them right now. ClaudeSpeed1911
@AtomicPunk You would spoil the surprise off the game if you market the game, R* knows what they are doing.
73duster
I think they released TOO MUCH information. This game should be experienced with as little knowledge as possible. Rockstar has said that they didn't want to reveal too much because it would spoil any surprises, and i agree with them. Hopefully, they held back a lot more than they released. As it is, we now know the 3 main protagonists, as well as many details about the environment and game. I thought that details like being able to explore the ocean coastline, underwater caves, and many of the side activities, should have been kept secret. Imagine discovering for the first time, ON YOUR OWN, that you could go scuba diving and explore underwater caves. How would THAT feel? You would be saying "HOLY SH*T!, LOOK AT THIS!" or "THIS IS F*CKING AWESOME!". It's a feeling that i had when i first played GTAIII, and was only possible because i DID NOT know any details about the game. Expectations have now been elevated to unthinkable levels that will probably be impossible to meet. I predict, that like many who bash GTAIV, there will be those who expect way too much, thanks to having too much information. Max Payne 3 is a victim of such overexposure and relentless marketing. It's a GREAT game, which doesn't deserve the negativity surrounding it. Edited November 26, 2012 by 73duster
killahmatic
With the GI, IGN, Trailers, and screeshots combined, i think we learned a lot for the game still being 5-6 months away. We got to learn about all 3 characters (in previous gta previous, they only tell you about one ) we learned about switching characters, we learned that missions will have a heist theme, we learned that there are animals of all kinds in the game, we learned that the map is open from the start, we learned that we'll be able to have airplane access and nice cars from the start, we learned about the possiblity of multiple fighter jets, we learned about how a lot of different areas look, and thats just off the top of my head, i know theres some big things that i'm forgetting. Coral_City
There's no such thing as too much information. Other publishers/developers release tons of videos, news releases, images before a game is released and they do fairly well. Why Rockstar doesn't follow this pattern is their own goddamn business. As for MP3 DLC - it's unfortunate everything's related to their MP -- SP could use some love. No stupid challenges, actual DLC -- especially some more flashbacks with Passos... and what the hell happened to Passos end game anyway? HE LEFT... BUT WHERE

They also kept saying that it's a chance to play both the protagonist and the antagonist. That could be a huge spoiler!
LotusRIP
No. Basically we got this: ZOMG PREPARE FOR THE EXPLOSIONZ!!! Here it is... - Trevor does a sh*t on the toilet - Michael repels down a building - "I can be standing here, shoot these guys, or switch to Franklin with a sniper rifle, or switch to Trevor.... ", OK we get it, you can switch characters. ^ re-word that about 50 times and that's what we got. Some of the info is probably false, sort of like chinese whispers. It's funny how much extra facts we ended up with from the same story/preview. That yellow beanie guy needs to f*cking lose his job and go back to his mothers basement. He didn't appreciate his opportunity one single bit.
Triple Vacuum Seal
I don't see how they can spoil the game if the gameplay experience is as vast as R* claims. Seeing it and playing it are two separate things. I have great doubts that a GTA can even be spoiled "accidentally" to begin with. Grand Theft Auto is inherently freshly entertaining if the player is given the tools necessary to create their own experience. I mean look how boring IV was and most of us beat over 4 years of gameplay out of that thing. Most people outside of the GTA fanboy culture stopped giving a f*ck about that thing years ago. No one is asking R* to give up the story, they just want to see what major features are in the game. I knew ~80% of all features in SA before I even owned the game an still liked it. R* could feed the fan base a full 5% of the features each month (a lot of info) and still not spoil anything. Their marketing department is just over-thinking the whole ordeal IMO. It doesn't matter though. I'm sure most people on here including myself only think about V info when on GTAF. Plus R* shouldn't give a f*ck about what we have to say after releasing the amount of info they just did. "shut up, sit down, relax"
aliaseedful
No. They haven't told us sh*t. All they've given us are interviews, screenshots, two trailers, magazine focuses, weeks of information pouring through. Nothing. They've given nothing.
