winme05
I'm trying to find a replacement drive for my dead 500 gB Scorpio Blue. What I've found is a 250 gB Western Digital Scorpio Black with 16 mB cache @7200 RPM for LVL 35.70 (WD2500BEKT) and a 320 gB (WD3200BEKT) one for LVL 38.89. Is this an OK price, and is a WD Scorpio Black a good choice? By the way, on WD webpage it says that the warranty lasts for 5 years, but on the Tera.lv it says that it's 2-year only. Why? anus
Do you have a budget? The Black drives are pretty good though. As for the warranty, I think it's like this. The store is only willing to cover you for 2 years, after that you still have the warranty, but you'll have to deal with Western Digital directly. The process for dealing with them directly is given here. Basically you have to ship the drive to the service center for your country, which is in Poland. Shiva.
By the way, on WD webpage it says that the warranty lasts for 5 years, but on the Tera.lv it says that it's 2-year only. Why? Scorpio Black comes out with a warranty limit of 5 years. I guess, you're saying about Scorpio Blue which has a warranty limit of 2-3 years.
