man when i first got on the internet videochat was unheard of. if u had a VIDEO even that was a stretch.

 

now videochat is in the palm of your hands on your phone, computer, and tablet.

 

 

i tend to videochat a lot, especially when im bored.

 

yes i use skype sometime but that doesn't cut it always.

If you mean chatting with random strangers, I do not use videochat for fear of running into someone's penis on the screen. Otherwise, I use Skype with my friends.

 

I have only tried randomly chatting online once using Omegle. I was talking to a Texan about traveling and I said I wanted to visit Iran, at which point they told me to get killed by Muslim fundamentalists and disconnected.

some people are strange but tinychat and stickam both have filters unlike chatroulette which i wont link coz that is full of no good people.

 

 

now ive had some pretty good convos on tinychat and stickam its all about what u go in the room for and what you end up talking about.

I tend to use Omegle and Chatroulette a lot, probably because of pure boredom. If nothing else, it provides some cheap laughs and free entertainment.

 

On occasion, I will use Skype to connect with friends who are out of town or something of that nature. While I do agree that videochatting is a nice thing to have, nothing beats actually seeing someone in person.

Even before they claimed we would have wireless phones...before the internet was anything people could comprehend - they claimed that we would have video phones.

 

Sorry to slightly derail this thread...but that blows my mind. Out of all of the "things of the future" filmstrips and programs I saw as a younger person - the video phone is the only one that came true. I would much rather the jetpacks and flying cars they said we were getting by 2000. Ahwell...

Agreed. Even if one has a decent webcam, there are so many other things that factor into a problem-free videochat.
