My friend works at Rockstar. He said R* will not do Vice City again. The next GTA will be set in Anchorage.

Chicago would look a bit too liberty city in my opinion

Yea agreed

GTA VI will probably be set in Florida, in the 80's again, proably continue the story, so you start as Tommy when he's on top, maybe they'll include Cuba LOL that would be sick! I love Vercetti......

I can't see Rockstar doing Vice City again. Present day Miami doesn't really have a lot to offer anymore. Back in the 80's, yeah, with the whole cocaine thing but I really doubt R* would do that again - they're all about bold directions and whatnot, it wouldn't make sense. San Fierro wouldn't make sense either; can you honestly imagine an entire GTA game set there? Lol, it's a boring place. Las Venturas might be kinda cool, but since R* is all about recreating cities to the fullest extent they can, the only fun place in the game would be the strip because the rest of the city wouldn't be very interesting, and the countryside would consist of mainly desert.

Anyways, maybe I'm wrong, but I have a feeling that the next GTA is gonna be a new setting. There's tons of places they can go, but personally, I'd love Chicago biggrin.gif ...And not just because I live there. lol

Well they can do whatever era they want. If they want 80s, then 80s it is.

I would hope it would be in Chicago next seeing as the could actually add all 4 seasons including snow and then they could move out of the us since they done every region... After that would be London. Repeating cities/regions would get annoying. I mean spread the love, don't be hogging it in one area!!

Besides watch_dogs doesn't do the city justice, what I mean if you ever been to Chicago you would know state/lake DOESN'T have a gas station right under the "L" and the "Ambrose" thing is the Chicago theatre not a club like wtf, if they at least doing the city do it correctly and just change the name and the style just a bit, but don't change it completely!! Also many other free-roam (and other big games) have done NY and LA numerous of times so what gives?

I don't feel that Rockstar will make Vice City again.

They made Vice City perfectly for its time, and fans loved it. It would be big risk to the series to try and do better than the 80's version they perfected. The only argument would be to make it bigger and add all the new features, which isn't worth remaking an already successful location. Vice City had a specific feel to it and it cant be replicated, because it was fresh and original.

If you think of all the places in the world that they might do, you need to think of what works best for the story and their humor.

They have done london on the PS, but that wont work now. The humor is hard to connect with if you didn't grow up in the UK. The whole world watches American TV, that why its satire is understood by most. There isn't much geographically speaking in London that would be iconic enough to be worth recreating, IMO.

One country that does make me feel its a good candidate to be done, is Australia.

You have a wide variety of creativity waiting to be tapped in that country. You have the accents, the crazy words that natives use for all sorts of common day items and processes. Then you have the amazing landscapes with the huge cities along the coast. You have rain forests, deserts, and beaches. Not to mention that there is allot of crime and mafia.

Heck, there are even small islands surrounding the country, not to mention Tasmania.

Its a continent as large as the US, and has so much to offer. The name could even be GTA- Down Under

The next 2 titles are really going to set the course for the future of Rockstar. After GTAV, they have realistically run out of good places to remake , and we will see if they can put the same shine on a brand new location and keep the appeal that made them as big as they are today.

I can see Rockstar re-visiting Vice City in VI but this time instead of limiting it to just VC make the map

the state of Florida which will offer a bigger map and stop people from complaining about map size

I think it would also add a larger scope to the gamee. Just my 2 cents

Its the HD era.

I'm kinda hoping they do Las Venturas + the surrounding desert soon. I don't really feel like they did that Nevada area justice in San Andreas.

For GTA:VI, I think they'll visit one of SF, LV or VC and do a proper job of that one city and it's surrounding areas.

I suppose there's an outside chance of them doing a London sometime. But I don't think they'll do that just yet.

The Chicago debate: I'm in favour of them doing Chicago. The drawback with Chicago is whether or not people outside the U.S. will be able to tell the difference between LC and Chicago. But with having had at least one game with a completely different type of city between GTA:IV and a possible parody of Chicago will achieve some kind of separation from LC. The positives for Chicago are, that it would be a new addition to the GTAverse. It gives the opportunity to have diverse weather as the result of seasons (e.g. snow! biggrin.gif ). And they would be able to give it Rockstar's unique treatment blending condensing the city while preserving the authenticity. Hopefully, this would show us all what makes Chicago distinct and unique.

The Notorious MOB

Aside from the strip Las Venturas is far too barren and boring to hold a game of it's own. San Fierro is a possibility for a future game though. If they do then it will likely be on next gen consoles and will likely incorporate the whole of the San Francisco Bay Area given the enhanced capabilities.

The absolute best case scenario would be to have Las Venturas as a DLC for GTA V with the transitional/loading sequence being a plane ride from LSX (since it's closer to Los Angeles than San Francisco) and given the fact that Venturas is only really comprised of one city just over a fifth of the size of Los Santos then it actually could be done in 2-3 years (at the end of the current gen cycle) especially if it were produced by another Rockstar Studio but I really don't think that's going to happen.

I seriously doubt it. The next direction might be a city never done before like Chicago.

God I hope so. Chicago would be so f*cking fun with the bridges that rise up in the river downtown.

Chicago = Saints Row 1 and 2...

Not even. I want Rockstar authenticity.

...also Chicago is going to be the setting of one of the most anticipated games of 2013th - Watchdogs... dozingoff.gif ...R* would be third in recreating Chicago city in a free roam open world! and we all know they don't like being copycats, even though they make cities look different from each other...

2013? We can expect GTA 6 info 6 years from now.

yeah man....We wont see Gta 6 until 2017 or something

i think given the increasing power of next gen consoles, we can think pretty big, a parody of DC perhaps, with baltimore and philadelphia as appendages, or chicago, with detroit and perhaps a small bit of canada (possibly even french canada, if only for the high level biker warfare), but my personal favorite would be something like houston, with new orleans and a chunk of northern mexico attached, given the opportunity for pretty much open warfare that would allow

a. outlandish

i think the key is next-gen consoles technical options. ehat they can afford about game mechanics. because creating that vibe, that soul is creative teams job.

of course it'll be based on usa. thats the trademark of gta franchise.

also must remember city is main character. wben i think v its reminds me vinewood, movie sets, celebs, crime, ambition, weed, racism, music, unemployment, vs..

lc its the sameway.

philly? yes crime, multi-racial society, poors.

but thats all. even i am a crime genre reader-watcher.

so it must have that vibe, and must be in usa. thats all. rest of them about technical probs. i

i want to see south-border city based gta.

I'd love to see a return to Vice City, personally. While I agree that the 80's vibe was done perfectly the first time, I think just the location & geography itself would be a good enough reason to return. It wasn't perfect in Vice, and I feel it could be expanded on. As others have stated, it could incorporate other parts of Florida into it. Swamps, for example. If anything, seeing all of the art-deco hotels, sun soaked streets, and the water surrounding everything in RAGE would be cool. icon14.gif

With all that said, I'm not quite sure why topics are being started on the next GTA. We're still a ways off from V, and I'm sure that'll satisfy most everyone for quite awhile. Not to mention that Rockstar can choose to do any city they want. It could be a return, or it could be a new city entirely. We'll see when the time comes.

Another thing I'm confused about is why everyone seems to think that Rockstar will do SF and LV next. As I said before, they can do any city they want. The III era is SEPARATED from the IV era. Just because it was done with 3 cities in San Andreas, that doesn't mean that it's that way in this era.

EDIT: It was also stated that with the III era, everything was planned out from the beginning. "A 2001 contemporary New York, an 80's Miami, and a 90's California. That's the plan we had all along." < Gotta find a source on this, but I specifically remember it in an interview. Rockstar could now go back and re-do cities that they weren't quite happy with, (As they've done) or they could change and to something totally new. With the V era, we just don't know. I doubt Rockstar themselves even know.

Wishful thinking at best, OP. Truth is, we don't know at this point. But what we do know is that V is set in Los Santos, and I figure we'll have plenty of time to speculate about the next GTA game when the time comes. This is not the time.

Las Venturas, early 80's. Think glam. Think bright lights, shiny, bright suits. Think corruption. Think Mafia, Triads, hustlers, conmen. Focus less on street crime and more about organised crime between families, Triads battling other factions and Italian Mafia.

Move up the ranks of the Mafia, battle your way through other lower rank criminals, stealing cars, houses, merchandise (18 wheeler trucks). Move up the ranks unlocking swankier clothes. Missions unlock from various haunts as you move up the ranks. Starting in the backroom gambling den of a Cafe on the edge of the desert to be given your missions from higer rank mob guys in hotel suites and backrooms of some of the largest casinos.

Empire building at it's finest. Rise the ranks to take over your own casino. You'll have to battle everyone to get to the top. You will have to fight to stay there.

Dispose of your enemies out in the deserts. Use the baron deserts for major drug deals and meets. Buy other businesses as fronts for your empire like Car Dealership with a twist. You and your crew have to steal cars to keep the car dealership full of cars. If there's no cars then you will start to lose money. After your rank to level 15 in the card dealership you don't have to steal cars for the business. Your crew will and you just reap the rewards.

Manage all your small businesses, along with your drug dealing operation to save up for a multi-million dollar casino. It wont come easy.

Think Casino with Rober D'Niro.

Classic nice cars, crazy decorated hotel suites. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Paris is in Europe so...

GTA Europe means a GTA based around 3 or more cities in Europe so for instance London, Amsterdam and Paris.

I think there will be a future game with whole San Andreas State, including Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas, perhaps even bigger with San Diego etc.. I don't think R* will make a separate game for SF or LV. Just can't imagine how they would look like.

Hope for Vice City or a new location in GTA VI.

My guess is Las Venturas (of course, they're focusing on the 'pursuit of the almighty dollar in GTA V and they would do that in LV, too)

But: Las Vegas has a huge potential with the strip, the expensive casinos and all this (Casino Heists!!)

and a great countryside with the charleston peak, Lake Mead etc.

or Vice City (but we've already got that "summer, sun, palm trees, beach" feeling in GTA V).

I don't think that they'll do SF (would be very interesting, too, but GTA V is already set in a California City on the Pacific Coast (but I'm sure SF will return sooner or later)

I also don't think that they'll do another US city since the best known cities in the USA are New York, Miami, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Chicago / Washington DC (I'd love to see how they'd include the White House in a GTA game biggrin.gif ) and other cities wouldn't seem as exciting.

I'd love vegas to be done, but I don't feel it's worthy of an entire game, perhaps they could do one with vice city and venturas but not on the same map, and you would have to purchase a plane ticket to travel between the cities. (I'm not a fan of san fierro)

I think the next game will be one of either:

Vice City (Miami), possibly expanded to more of Florida including Orlando, and maybe Tampa/Jacksonville)

Chicago + nearby areas.

London + nearby areas.
