Loste1
also consider the fact that gta stories take place in the span of a month or two, so not long enough for a change in seaseon

Bent
I would rather see the car get muddy when drivin in the woods or some off the road place rather tan to have it snow in southern CA
brwhizz
The problem with seasonal change is what happens when you reach the end of the cycle: Do we go from one year to the next? Each gta has been set in a specific time and place- in this case, Southern California in 2013.
simonp92
I'm not too into California seasonry, but I assume that the difference are quite minor from winther to summer? So if that's the case, I don't think R* should spend time making such minot tweaks as different clothing from summer to winther.
Lioshenka
Not sure if this has been discussed yet but wouldn't it be cool to have a season change during the mid game storyline? I was hoping it would become winter, and having snow drop, and also snow on streets, roofs and mountains. Uh im from the east coast. (chicago) i moved out here to arizona on the border to california. Why did you move there? I guess it was the weather. I would love to see the snow, Mafia 2 had some really beautiful weather settings, but I doubt R* will do anything like that in California. Too bad GTA IV wasn't set in the winter. Snow would have made allot of sense in LC. Edited December 1, 2012 by simonp92
Mário César Baldessar Moro
I always wanted snow in GTA. But since I played Mafia II (with snow on the entire city for a certain period) and Red Dead Redemption (with perennial snow in a same area) I do not have much more curious about how it would look in the GTA. But the idea of seasons is very good, imagine walking through plains while the snow melts around us showing up with flowers and singing birds. DoomsdayFAN
Yes, it can snow in LA, but it's extremely rare. More than likely though you'll see snow up in the surrounding mountains. Since there are surrounding mountains in GTA V, hopefully there's snow and winter.
Tupiz
Why not snow in the mountains then? There was snow in RDR. So why not in V?
gta5freemode4eva
also consider the fact that gta stories take place in the span of a month or two, so not long enough for a change in seaseon I've noticed that a lot of people on different topics have the same argument as you have just put. GTA is still very very playable AFTER the main story mode is done so seasons would be very much welcomed especially for multiplayer modes. Races in different seasons would be brilliant. In other words this game doesn't last just for the amount of time it takes for the story to take place. GTA is probably 1 of the most re-playable and continuous games you can get. Get on free mode + multiplayer modes with your mates THIS IS WHERE GTA SHINES
wildstyle91
I'm hoping for sunny weather 90% of the time. Weather does affect your mood you know! That's probably why a lot of people disliked GTA4, because it was so gray and dull most of the time in terms of weather. It suited the story line however but I think the opposite with GTA5. They could include snow and ice in multiplayer just for a laugh though, would be lots of fun.
TheYeast
It snows in the mountains in Cali. My mate goes skiing during winter!!!!! I lived there so i know! This. It snows in the mountains when it rains elsewhere. Depends on elevation. And considering theres a giant mountain, snow isnt that unlikely.
reform
In the mountains snow would be good but not downtown LA. Santa impersonators and ridable reindeer over the "winter" would be interesting though.
NONative
Too many dynamic changes to the terrain would mess with the overall concept of the game. Seasons are usually used to establish a timeline within the story. I don't see this as needed.

matt19811
we do have a fire season now actually snowing and skiing on mt chilliad seems like the way to go. And if you don't like it, don't do it. The gta universe should be like the real world only darker. Everyone can ski don't be racist.
