Sometimes you'll need 2 to execute a mission, someones it'll be a 1 person job.. My guess is that only the biggest jobs will require all 3 of them in the same place at the same time, other than the likely meetings they'll have along the way to stay on the same page. Second, they all have their own lives and problems. These could result in missions could include their other friends or family members. On the other side the heists require a lot of preparation, which suggests multiple missions before the main heist mission. I would say 50-50 between multiple and solo character missions.
