Cloudly
No, he is saying that you can't have an infinite variation of missions, and that the ammount of things you will be able to do infinitely will be small. You know, just like in all the other GTA games? So in other words, Zee is right, you are wrong. Zee is always wrong. That's just the way the world works. Oh, right, jump on the "let's hate on Zee" bandwagon, even when he has a valid point, because f*ck logic. Because his posts suck and he always whines about the same three things and his only valid complaints are about a game that's 4 years old and hasn't aged well yet was received very positively by reviewers and anyone who had played it on release. He's becoming increasingly irrelevant and not funny anymore and it's time for him to leave, if he still refuses to contribute anything. So yeah it's just pretty much, "let's all hate on Zee". There are a lot of people who are fine with doing just that. Edited November 26, 2012 by Cloudly
simonp92
Dan said the game will be as the length of Red Dead which is only about 50 missions, and thats half the missions of any other GTA, which in my opinion is kinda sad, i want a long story ! what do you guys think ? The missions of RDR was allot longer than GTA IV's so all and all the games are more or less the same length. Also, pretty sure that statement was translated incorrectly, so we still have no concrete evidence to how long the game might be.
GR7
I told you guys the episodes were a big experiment. Not just for multiple protagonists in the same city but for next games story length. GTAIV apparently has a terrible completion rate but TBOGT probably had a much higher completion rate due to its short but sweet story. I guessed around 75 missions but judging from what they said it could be even less, I guess they're taking it back to Vice City in terms of the number of missions and making the player earn certain amounts of money to progress to more missions. There is one thing you forgot to mention, they said the missions will be allot more deeper and a good amount of the missions will have multiple ways to get the job done depending on how creative the player is. 50-60 more varied missions is a whole lot better than 90 linear not to mention repetitive GTAIV missions. PlaystationGamer266
This is bullsh*t, i don't care if i have to drive over to the country to drop off michael's slutty daughter, i just want more missions

That being said I didn't think the actual story was too bad it didn't take itself too seriously, I enjoyed the weird father and son dynamic Tony and Luis had and it had a clear message which was don't take loans from shady people it will just lead to a whole lot more trouble down the line. Mr_Clifton
I will be disappointed if the game is shorter. People complaining about IV saying it was "boring and repetitive" aren't real Grand Theft Auto fans. Seriously what are you expecting???? you could say the same for COD or GOW. zeppelincheetah
No long story. Imo IV was too long and even SA could've been trimmed by a few missions. I think the length of GTA III was adequate. It's quality over quantity. GTA IV had sooo many missions but only a very few (Museum Piece, Three Leaf Clover, etc) were very good. 5000 Staples
What I don't understand is why people would play mission after mission after mission. Get back to me when you achieve 100% in 20-30 hours then I will listen to topics like this.

We expect better because we've experienced better. Never in GTA III, Vice City or even San Andreas did I think "man this is getting boring" or "yet another stupid warehouse mission!?!?!" GTA IV was bland and repetitive. I expect a higher quality experience. GTA is not a new installment every year series like COD.
MyDog
This could be good. GTA SA and IV both had over 100 missions and both became boring after a while (SA in San Fierro, IV in Algonquin). However still, I don't like it when the focus is on free roam rather than story.

Verdant
Yeah, I am not really worried about this. The missions will be longer and perhaps more of a variety of ways to complete it. That drive there, pop that guy, earn cash just got boring after a while. That scene in the 2nd trailer were we see that truck dumping cars onto the road to destroy cop cars is epic, most missions have to be action packed like that.. (Wrong Side of the tracks anyone?) Lol God no, not going through that again .
Ash_735
Wasn't Vice City only 51 Missions? If you just did the main Story Required ones that is. edit: Just checked, yeah, Vice City was just 51 Missions, not including side Missions. edit 2: Grand Theft Auto III - 50 Missions Grand Theft Auto: Vice City - 51 Missions Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - 104 Missions Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories - 71 Missions Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories - 59 Missions Grand Theft Auto IV - 92 Missions The Lost and Damned - 22 Missions The Ballad of Gay Tony - 26 Missions Edited November 26, 2012 by Ash_735
jamieleng
Missions will be multi-tiered. Ferrying a passenger to a destination, while being pursued by gun toting bikers won't constitute a mission. That will just be part of one larger 'mission'. The Notorious MOB
I actually think this is good, it gives the game a lot of replay value. There will be tons of side missions and random events though that will surely be needed for 100%. I'm more than likely gonna 100% it and then play the story again and again and again.. Signal1
They are comparing length to RDR. How long did RDR take to develop? If GTA V has taken twice as long to develop, I expect it to be twice as long to complete. Thats reasonable yes?

Well RDR was shown off in 2005 under the title of Old West Project, and came out in 2010, so Five Years, yeah, I bet you didn't think it was that long when you wrote your comment!
