You're right, I think Rockstar should take all GTA's off the store shelves, cancel and delete GTA 5 and spend all their time and money making one single game with 10 playable characters, a 50000 SqFt map and flyable donkeys. As GTA III was a reboot. I'm willing to bet you didn't bat an eye when they done-away with the 2D Universe and characters. It's so Rockstar can move on to making bigger and better things. If you miss the 3D Universe so bad go play those games. Nobody wants Rockstar to taint that already done-with story and add things to it that doesn't need. If Rockstar just had one universe, GTA V would be birds eye screen, with cartoon characters, and I don't think it would sell as well compared to what they plan to release. Liberty City is vastly different to III's Liberty, and you only have to look in the Mapping Los Santos topic to see how R* are also applying this to GTA V, but on an even greater scale. Personally I like it better this way, and it obviously works well, even though a lot of people complain that they want old characters back. By having the same universe, I don't mean they should release a game where you could play as all the protagonists. But I honestly don't see the harm of having little things hinting at different protagonists. Not exactly have something like a playable character or them be in a mission or a boss of a mission. A cameo is as far as they need to take it. But I don't see what's so bad. In fact the events don't even cross each other because: A. There all at different times (Vercetti in the 80's and CJ in the 90's, Niko in 2008, Michael, Frank and Trevor in 2012/2013) B. Even if they did happen all at the same time, there all in different locations (other than Michael, Franklin and Trevor in Los Santos) All I'm saying is I'd rather have them all in the same universe, than have them in seperate as it is pointless. I'm sure as sh*t positive that if there was one universe we'd have the advancements we do now. Rockstar wants to recreate the world outside. And they're not going to stop until they do. GTA IV - the reboot was another step closer to that. I'm 50/50 on there being another reboot some day. Yes, there is a part of me that believes they are done rebooting the series. I think they're happy with what they have now. The current Liberty City, the current Los Santos.
