If you actually bothered to read the OP you'd see I said myself they aren't realistic. It's for the sake of encouraging people to use different characters for different situations.

If the benefits of using the different characters as holding a gun sideways reducing recoil then it would be more likely to make me spit at my screen out of frustration at the game's stupidity than to use different characters for different situations. I think better vehicle physics would be enough to suffice since Franklin is said to be a really good driver and Trevor has prior experience as a pilot. Different shooting styles would be a nice touch but the benefits you've named are inacurate and unnecessary.

Then how about

 

Franklin: Still holds gun sideways but can move quicker and more agile in combat

Trevor: More accurate and moves slowly

Michael: A mix of agility and accuracy

Yeah I think that works a bit better given the ages of the protagonists and Michael rappelling down the side of tthe building hinting at his agility but I really can't see Franklin holding a gun sideways at all since he's so keen to leave his gang banging past behind. If he and another character were in a shootout with police and him being the black guy was shooting his gun sideways like a stereotypical negro hoodrat how is that going to look to the other guy? He's going to think he's an imbecile. In my view having him depicted as shooting a gun sideways sets black characters in the media back 20 years and would probably make Rockstar look pretty ignorant, even bordering on racist.

But didn't R* say Franklin was one of those people who cares about their style? How about if Franklin begins with holding his pistols sideways and as he progresses he holds it one hand, straight up (but not to his side like Michael) and then begins to hold it like Niko on IV?

I wouldn't mind a NPC shooting sideways if he is a OG Loc or Yusuf Amir type character.

 

Franklin should shoot the normal way because he doesn't seem to be like a poser.

I think you might be thinking about this too in depth. If the characters have shot a gun before then they will know the proper way to hold them.

Not only did I/do I HATE stylized ways on holding firearms in GTA SA and IV the stats listed in the OP do not make any sense at all. More importantly it doesn't add anything meaningful to the game at all.
