BullworthAcademy Posted November 25, 2012 Share Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) I just beat the demo and all I can say is: This game is awesome! Devil May Cry did not disappoint. The script in the demo is outright sh*t in some parts though. I think they added in too many swears. The older ones never had any swears in them. Story: The game is set in a parallel universe in the Devil May Cry series. It starts with Dante recovering from a hangover when he is attacked by a Hunter demon. Dante learns he is in Limbo City, a dreary city that appears calm at first, but transforms into a twisted parody of itself with demons and other monstrosities who frequently attempt to kill him whenever he is seen by the demons. After confronting a demon, Dante meets a girl named Kat who sends him to meet the leader of "The Order", an organization labeled by the press as terrorist. The Order is fighting against Limbo's demons and its leader Vergil expects Dante to join them. While fighting enemies Dante learns he is Nephilim the offspring of a demon and an angel. During the game, Dante is frequently taunted and stalked by the demon Mundus, who seeks to have Dante killed. Tycek Posted November 30, 2012 Share Posted November 30, 2012 I've played the demo today and I was blown out of my shoes. Game is beautiful, brutal, fast-paced and very pleasant. Putting the reboot is hands of Ninja theory was great idea. Limbo is great, when it tries to kill you with moving walls and sidewalks, people shadows (silhouttes) are briliant, enemies are fine, humor (full of insults and swears) is great, new Dante is great. He looks like youn Matt Damon (and finally not like typical japanese bishonen). The only gripe may be a bit blurred textures sometimes (but it's still demo). I've never been fan of previous DMC, but after the demo I think I'll may get this game. I only hope that game will be long since it won't have MP probably. 12 - 14 hours would be great if fun won't disapear somewhere in the middle (like in Enslaved). I played the demo and it was pretty decent, but I have faith that the final game will be better. Also, I see that the Bloody Palace mode will be free, downloadable DLC shortly after the release day. mrpain Posted January 17, 2013 Share Posted January 17, 2013 I'm actually getting this next week. People seemed to be hating on the looks of the game rather than the game itself. I've played the demo, it still has the same stylishness as the previous DMCs. Yes it's a new Dante, people just have to accept that. Kippers Posted January 17, 2013 Share Posted January 17, 2013 I seemed to ahve gotten it into my head that this was coming out in Feb so that's messed up my gaming budget somewhat, and backlogs everything. Looks cool though. When you fight the Succubus in the demo, he says "I'm going to pull off your head, piss down your neck and sh*t on your worthless carcass!" changed to "Why don't you just die, you stinking little pus globule, I'm going to eat you, sh*t you out and smash your tiny sh*t covered little bones!" I've put seven hours into the game and it looks like I've still got much of the story to play through. Anyway, will do a full review once I complete the game but in the meantime, here's what I think about the game so far in just one line: New Dante and Vergil suck so much balls but the rest of the game is amazeballs yo.
