Molotov Cocktails & Gas Stations:

Before I get started, I want to mention that I recently touched on this topic in this thread, but I wanted to discuss it a bit more in a new thread with you guys.

So, from what we already know, we can at least infer that gasoline will be able to be used as a weapon within the game. (Source: Game Informer.) Based on that, I had an idea. For any of you who played Chinatown Wars, you may remember that there was a rather fun minigame-type thing that allowed you to purchase gasoline and use it to craft molotov cocktails. My idea is that this should make a return in V, maybe with some improvements. We already know that molotov cocktails are in the game, so maybe Rockstar will bring the minigame (or at least the concept) over from CW. I think the reason this would be a good thing to add is that since money will play a big part in the game, we may as well be able to spend it on expensive fuel to make cheap explosives, haha.

Based on my predictions, gas stations may have a bigger part in the game this time around. With the economy the way it is in America, fuel prices inflate all of the time. This would play into everything Rockstar has said about the theme of the game. However, I've noticed that some people want the cars in the game to actually use fuel, as it would add a more challenging aspect to the game, and give more use to the gas stations. That being said, I think that rather than that, V should use things like this in more creative and criminal ways. I would definitely love to see more fairly routine things being used to create tools and weapons for the player to utilize. An example of this would be how food is used to restore health, rather than forcing you to eat for the hell of it and the realism.

What do you guys think? Is there any other ways that normal things could be used to the player's advantage?

*As a side note, I don't absolutely hate the idea of using fuel for cars, I just think it should be an option that can be toggled.*

Discuss.

But if we blow up the gas stations...how will we fill up our cars when they're running low?? suicidal.gif

I said nothing about wanting to fuel up cars in the game. What I was saying is that we could hope to avoid things like this, and instead use gas stations for something else. The basic idea was to leave all of the mundane stuff to the normal pedestrians, and leave the more criminal stuff to us, as is tradition with GTA. I'm hoping that Rockstar will find ways to implement fairly normal stuff in an interesting way that benefits the player, rather than forces the player to do realistic stuff.

If weapon customization is in. I want to be able to buy a bottle of soda, drink it to replenish my health & then tape it to my pistol to be used as a temporary silencer.

That's what gave me the idea. Cool feature, only used once for about 3 mins.

Yeah, I really liked this feature too. This could also be the way to acquire glass bottles to make the molotovs. Man, I really hope something like this is implemented now, haha.

I'd like to take a lighter to the gas nozzle and start up some kind of stationary flamethrower. That would be awesome.

Nice idea. 'Got me thinking about how there could be some sort of flammable aerosol to use as a makeshift flamethrower, such as AXE or a can of spray paint.
