Raavi
Just buy FC3 and after you've finished the story and exhausted the expansive open world make your own missions in the map editor with very smart human/animal AI with maps only limited to your own imagination. I think this will keep me and a lot of people eagerly awaiting GTA V busy for a couple of months. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

I think this will keep me and a lot of people eagerly awaiting GTA V busy for a couple of months. I wish I'd bought Far Cry 3 instead of Assassin's Creed 3. I thought it was going to be a true evolution of the series, but it wasn't that much different to the only other Ass Creed game I've played (AC2). If I'd bought & played Brotherhood & Revelations, AC3 would've bored me to tears. The voice editing was awful for a supposed AAA game, almost as bad as Far Cry 2. I'm sure FC3 improved on everything since then.
THUNDER-TRUMP
Funny things is, when they released the trailer for V last year just before Skyrim, I lost interest in playing that

In my opinion far cry 3 is without a doubt the best game of the year. So if you can get your hands on this game definitly buy it. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise

Overall Skyrim is one of the biggest developmental flawed games ever made. The game punishes you for progressing with flip book frame rate. They said they patched it but in reality it even got worse in some areas. I regret the fact I ever bought the game. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
TheWetPartoftheArm
If there's any game that will keep you occupied until GTA V, it's Skyrim. In fact most, if not all games by Bethesda in that similar vain are fantastic such as the Fallout series but Skyrim is the pinnacle of the RPG right now, it raised the bar for every other game and offered an almost unprecedented level of freedom and exploration, not to mention an endless amount of things to do. Unfortunately I'm a PS3 user however and am currently butthurt that Bethesda have not released any DLC content due to technical problems and have limited communications on the matter which I find disrespectful, this doesn't stop me loving the original game but it does piss me off as I expected to have been able to play some DLC by now. If you're an X-Box user, even more reason to get Skyrim, Beth seems to appreciate X-Box users above all others. I also bought Assassin's Creed 3 recently and was underwhelmed, it takes a ridiculously long time to get to the point and you can't even play as your main character, in his adult form anyway, until around 7-10 hours in. It's an entertaining game but I expected far better, it was nowhere near the leap forward that AC2 was. Currently awaiting Far Cry 3's delivery so hopefully that will be better. I think star wars rebel assault is one of the best games ever made, but I know there are many people who don't and that's fine. I don't need them to like it, I just need me to like it. I can't see sarcasm through the internet unless it's really obvious, like when someone suggests toilet and bladder mechanics. Then it's easy to spot, but otherwise most sarcastic posts are really hard to pick out.
cant remember
I'm pretty much in the same boat as OP. Skyrim was the first Elder Scrolls (or probably RPG even) I tried, and I can tell you this: Skyim is great, just like GTA. They're both very different. I thought GTA was pretty freeroam, well the freedom you get in Skyrim is 10 times what you get in GTA. Being able to do more than one mission at once, character customization, playstyle, how the story progresses, items you can take etc. all that is much more expansive than in GTA. Another thing that's very true to keep in mind, Skyrim was very overrated. It's a great game, but it's not EVERYTHING The dungeons you explore get quite repetitive after a while, the game (at least version 1.0) was quite buggy and it is also much less action oriented than GTA. You spend a lot of time walking to your destination and listening to people talk. Nontheless it's still extremely good and enjoyable. If it'll make you forget about GTA, well that'll make the wait for GTAV even easier

twinkiller
Me and my brother purchased this game a few months back at Gamestop and it was the worst game decision we ever made. Within the first 10 minutes there was a glitch and our system shut off. We turned it back on and the game went all pixilated and looked like a Playstation 1 game. We were so angry and we returned it about 1 hour later and got our money back. For us the game was unplayable. But this was just my experience and you will probably have a better one. But you will not lose interest in GTA. That is impossible.
Woody112
It's still another six months (likely) before GTA V comes out, so I think you'll be fine. I got bored of Skyrim pretty quickly, what with it's awful combat and unforgettable characters, but I'm not going to say you wouldn't enjoy it. RussianFreak
Personally I'm not a fan of swords, dragons, and midieval times, so the two games can't compare for me. I'd say you should be able to enjoy both equally.
Radoonhagaydoon
I can't even play the game anymore cause it's boring (skyrim) --- without mods, it's boring. so PC Verison > all (in terms of Skyrim, not GTA.) --- @GTA: This game I will play for a long time because I still play GTA IV even some people don't like it. I would still play GTA SA but I don't have a PS2 controller atm.
GTADAY1
I think skyrim is a great game really enjoyed it lots to do and tons of side missions that may keep you entertained until around the time GTA V is released but i doubt it will cause you to lose interest all together with GTA it might make the wait a little less agonising though
I Luke
Laughing at all those idiots hating on Skyrim. You can't judge two totally different games. Masher8559
Two totally different games not a single thing in common except for the fact that they are games. There is no reason why you cannot play both. I will be, when I fancy some RPG open world time I'll play Skyrim. When I fancy some car action, gang action, cruising in a car listening to some independence FM, I'll play GTA.
Cahill--EFC
you will never lose interest in GTA5.....it going to be a far bigger map then GTA4 GTA4 was just a city map but we kept on it for years, and by the looks of GTA5 its going to keep us well entertained while we explore every inch. Secura
GT- What now, sorry I can't hear over the two thousand hours of gameplay I've stored up on Skyrim. No, you don't just lose interest in one amazing game because you're playing another, that's preposterously stupid. If anything Skyrim's only made me more hyped V. Bethesda have never been great with that console, I'm sure they'll learn one day though. The idea for the game was brilliant but graphics and just overall performance on PS3 is terrible because of the separate CPU and GPU cores (They didn't take that into account when developing). Add to this equation the fact that they basically exclude PS3 users from DLC. You have a game that's unfit for console. – overeducated wonk who fetishises compromise
