matt19811
you'll lose interest in skyrim once you get to the big round table to meet with all the kings and nothing you can do will progress the game. It will be broke and you won't be able to finish the game no matter what you do and noone online knows how to fix it so you'll be f*cked and back here soon enough. That's what happened to me on pc

darklordv
Great game. No reason to not get such an epic game. For me, the similarities between Skyrim and GTAIV were very few. Both are masterpieces.

Lock n' Stock
I played the sh*t out of Skyrim while I was waiting for GTA V info. It is a masterpiece of a game that offers a HUGE amount of gameplay hours. However, I don't think it'll make you lose interest in GTA V. The only similarities between them both is that they're open-world sandbox games that require you to do missions and quests to progress. Other than that it's very different. Space Cowboy
I didn't really enjoy Skyrim much, but it's not bad game. But GTA>Skyrim ofc . I think you won't lose interest, it's totally different type of game.

JaggySnake
Nope. I never played an Elder Scrolls game before Skyrim. In fact I had never heard of Elder Scrolls before! I didn't have a clue what it was all about. I just bought it to see what the big fuss what all about since everyone was talking about it. It's an amazing game. I really enjoyed it but it will NOT ruin GTA V for you. Despite both titles being open world games they aren't really the same. Skyrim is more fantasy, I really enjoyed it because it reminded me of Lord of the Rings. GTA V is a parody of real life. Just so different. Pick Skyrim up and play it. If you enjoy it as much as I did then it'll pass a lot of the time between now and GTA V. It took me 80 hours just to finish the main quest/factions and there was still loads of stuff I hadn't done. I'm not a huge gamer who will sit down for hours and hours at a time so it took me a good few months to do those 80 hours. I'm really looking forward to GTA V and I wouldn't say Skyrim has ruined it for me. It's still one of my most played games despite having bought it a year ago. I have it on PS3. A lot of people will say it sucks on PS3 and I admit there are a lot of bugs but, hey, I managed to "complete" it SO it's not really as bad as people make it out to be. ccrogers15
One Emotocon explains this topic: Skyrim and GTA are both 2 different style games. You cant even compare. Thats like comparing Mario and Tetris.

GTA and Elder Scrolls on the other hand are both open-world. The similarities pretty much end there though.

japse123
So let me get this straight. This is a thread about people being afraid of bying a game because you will loose interest in another game? It's a shame we live in a world where we can only play one game
kesta195
You will sink a lot of hours into Skyrim, believe me. The main worry is not your interest in other games but your attention to more important things in life haha. By the time GTAV comes out the novelty of Skyrim will have worn out a bit, don't worry. It would have been a good idea to get it when it came out, as almost a year without GTAV info followed Skyrim's release.

reform
This thread is dumb on so many levels. Even if Skyrim would cause you to lose inerest in GTA5, why would that even matter? What matters is that you're enjoying whatever game you're playing.
Lioshenka
I used to love, absolutely love Warcraft 2 and spent hours playing it. I still think it is a great game, but I am more into GTA now. So don't worry, you'll like one of the games better, but your views may change with time.
Coral_City
Skyrim is just another fantasy game for fat nerds who like to pretend they're not. It'll be a cool game but definitely won't overshadow your love for GTA. GTA is just another crime simulator for fat nerds who like to pretend they're criminals. See how pathetic that sounds? Seriously pal, gtfo before I start my own personal flame-war with you. AGREED with Colonel... Anyway, Skyrim is definitely not made for everyone. I bought it once only because I thought it would be comparable to RDR + some RPG aspects. But I played it for an hour or two, and sold it on Craigslist. It was way too much RPG for me, the graphics weren't impressive, gameplay was repetitive, and the story wasn't very cohesive. I did love Dragon Age Origins and its sequel Dragon Age 2. Both were impressive games (DA2, not so much), and while there was a prominent RPG element, it was a lot easier to deal with.

Miss Darko
Skyrim is gay. If Skyrim is gay and GTA is straight, then I guess that makes me bi. Which... I guess that's fairly accurate. Thanks, you've explained everything for me!
