Will I lose interest?

Okay, I know this may sound pretty f*cking retarded, but I'm getting Skyrim for Christmas. Now, this is my first Elder Scrolls game, and I don't really know if I will like it or not. I am a huge GTA fan, and I have been playing it since I was pretty little. I was just wondering if I got Skyrim, would I maybe lose interest in GTA in general? I know a lot of my friends LOVE Skyrim, and they say they would play it over GTA any day. I don't really think I could ever lose interest in GTA, but I was just wondering. I do want Skyrim, but if I will lose interest, maybe I shouldn't buy it. What do you think I should do?

BTW this isn't a troll. It does sound pretty f*cking stupid though, I'm just asking your opinions. lol

rolleyes.gif Wat?!

Trust me, I felt the same way back in October before I got Horizon. I loved that game, but then I began to get interested in V again, and when info bursted out, I was damn sure interested. You won't lose interest.

Not at all. By the time GTA V comes out you'll have played enough of Skyrim that you'll want to move onto something new anyway.

I think your friends are just winding you up.. GTA and Skyrim are nothing alike.. Well you know, they are both games.. That's about where the similarities end.. If you like RPG games though Skyrim was pretty good.

Skyrim is f*cking dope! Takes a while to get the hang of it and become interested in the game, but once you do it crazy. Its a different game than gta tho, so don't be worried. The map size might shock you on how big it is.

Yes, once you play Skyrim you'll forget every other game exists. It's like magic. sarcasm.gif

No, i don't think that will happen, Skyrim isn't not that bad but believe me, nothing will ever beat GTA.

Dark Souls is 10 times better than Skyrim btw (imo).

Skyrim is an amazing game you will probably become engrossed in for sure. But Skyrim and GTA are different games, as many have pointed out. Skyrim will be a great way to pass time until GTAV is released, but it wont stop you from playing GTA. For me, Bethesdas are on a par with Rockstar, so it's a win-win situation. The only thing that would stop me playing GTAV is Fallout 4, but that game hasn't even been announced yet, so there is no worries.

I disagree, it will be a very good game, but I think Donkey Kong is the best game ever.

Yes. It's a known fact that the sounds in Skyrim are very hypnotic, and there is a 87% chance that you will refuse to play any other game.

Tread lightly.

Skyrim is a great game, I'm up at 350 hrs with my main character now. But no, you will not forget about all other games out there just because you learn to love Skyrim. I haven't played all those 350 hrs in one sitting, you can break the spell you know. If you find it hard to break the Skyrim spell however, I'm sure someone at the College of Winterhold can help you out. They know what they're doing up there you know.

Regarding OP.

I started elder scrolls with oblivion

But skyrim is in my top 10, everyone I know loved it including me but gta is is a staple of gaming there's no way to become "tired"of either game, just distracted. (imo)

Skyrim is just another fantasy game for fat nerds who like to pretend they're not. It'll be a cool game but definitely won't overshadow your love for GTA.

I have ES V: Skyrim and I like it a lot, but it has a lot of the same issues that ES IV: Oblivion had, which was repetitiveness. There's lots of dungeons in the game, but they all start to look the same, you're fighting the same monsters over and over, there's like five or six engaging quest lines and everything else is just kinda go here and do this... They focused too much on putting so many things in the game that they forgot about things like variety and quality. I got tired of Skyrim much more quickly than I expected or wanted to. It's worth playing, sure, but the 300+ hours of content they promise is mostly procedurally generated padding.

So... it's good, but not so good that it'll make you uninterested in GTA V. And even if it does, that's kind of a good thing because it's gonna be a while until it comes out.

GTA is just another crime simulator for fat nerds who like to pretend they're criminals.

See how pathetic that sounds? Seriously pal, gtfo before I start my own personal flame-war with you.

Don't get Skyrim on Ps3...just saying...

it works fine on the PS3 now.

anyway go ahead and buy it. don't worry, you'll get sick of it after a while. maybe just in time for V.

Skyrim is awesome and you will maybe be switching between them quicker than the GTA protags.

Chances are you'll stay with GTA but Skyrim will be calling to you.

But you might have had enough of Skyrim after 3 months, it can be like that only for you to pick it up at a later date, you can over play it.

Not at all! I don't have this game (skyrim), but I know the very reason why we loose interest: we play it way too much. (Well, unless it's GTA! This game never gets old.)

Maybe you'll loose interest someday but trust me, if you really are a fan you are not going to loose interest.

if you want ask our opinion (from this forum)

well the thought will always be GTA series > ELDER SCROLL series.

ok , IMO - Skyrim has a alot similarity to San Andreas (RPG whore) , u get what u worked for . It good game to play while waiting for V (console can pre-order - so no reason to give prior to TES over GTA smile.gif ). About lost interest in V , i guess it is impossible - you may find Skyrim is addictive , but not for long (since there no MP confused.gif ) and so much thing to do in that game (the best filler while waiting V ).

So if you getting Skyrim , there is nothing wrong - even if you will lost interest on V , that wouldnt never be too long until the game released . Its also the right thing for you (if you never play any TES series before;i suggest you to play older series before jump into Skyrim eventhough skyrim is set way back then Oblivion ) , you know - at least you have something to do while waiting for V . And dont worry about temporary lost of interest biggrin.gif. Go enjoy that game.

Skyrim was pretty fun, but I've had much more fun in all of Rockstar's games that I've played (SA, Bully, IV, RDR, LA Noire).
