ccrogers15
Same problem for me. Even in compatibility mode. This is why Windows 8 is an utter fail turd and needs to die like Vista did.
dafour
I bet this has nothing to do with Windows 8, its Securom.

dafour
Alright I'm a step further now, running Windows 8 Enterprise N WITHOUT media player. After installing this http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/de...s.aspx?id=30685 the game boots until it gets to the main screen and then its crashes to desktop. I believe this has something to do with Internet Explorer now.

arin71094
Are you getting any error messages when launching? I had this error message when I would launch: "GTA IV FATAL ERROR: XNetStartup failed - Please re-boot your system and/or re-install the game 10093". I deleted GFWL and the xlive.dll file and then re-installed and everything is working fine for me on Windows 8 Edited December 5, 2012 by arin71094
