You see this, this right is what's wrong with this forum. Comments like that.

Seriously what do you have against more camera options? We already have a useless cinematic view, why not a first person view?

You do have a point.I myself actually wishing for this.I got the FPS mod for GTA IV and I find it cool both driving and shooting around LC.A long as this view is OPTIONAL,I say why not?

Nothing wrong with having both. And to RussianFreak, the gun objects were already pretty high-res in GTA IV. Hell, even tiny little some-megabyte mods for GTA SA add crazy detail to guns in that game.

High rez?

They'd have to go from the first image to the second and that would suck up a lot of memory and graphics. Take it from someone who modded all of his guns to higher rez files in IV, it makes a huge difference. With the current map size and detail, I don't think we'd be able to swallow extremely high resolution guns as well, and there's no way in hell I'm looking at that first image all day up close in 1st person view. Same goes for car interiors, they'd have to be higher resolution than in IV, more like a parallel to MCLA. If it all looks terrible, why even bother with the option of including it?

Jizzy B. - R.I.P.

First person perspective already exists in the game, although in a limited form, i.e. when you use the camera on your phone, and when you get into a taxi.

All they'd need to do is expand upon what's there, and allow you to walk around.

R* already said they want to avoid the FPS genre because they don't wanna copy what everyone's doing.

But adding a first person camera view to this game does not make it an FPS. FPS and FP camera =/=. Plenty of open world games have the option for either and no one slams them for having it. Skyrim, a game loved by nearly all is both first and third person and it works just fine.

I don't see why anyone would be against this option, but some people just don't make sense.

No, it wouldn't work or feel right to me, i tried the FPS mod for GTA IV and it was unplayable for me.

I hope to god that GTA never puts first person in even as an option. Just ew.

Don't worry mate, Rockstar isn't stupid.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rockstar_Games#Company_goal

In October 2011, Rockstar creative vice president Dan Houser told Famitsu that Rockstar is intentionally avoiding developing in the first-person shooter genre.

"We're deliberately avoiding that right now" he said, according to a 1UP.com translation. "It's in our DNA to avoid doing what other companies are doing. I suppose you could say that Max Payne 3 is something close to an FPS, but there are really unique aspects to the setting and gameplay there, too, not just in the story. You have to have originality in your games; you have to have some kind of interesting message. You could say that the goalpoint of Rockstar is to have the players really feel what we're trying to do". Houser went on to say that Rockstar has "made new genres by ourselves with games like the GTA series. We didn't rely on testimonials in a business textbook to do what we've done. I think we succeeded precisely because we didn't concentrate on profit. If we make the sort of games we want to play, then we believe people are going to buy them."

Rockstar is simply, the best. cool.gif

You naysayers aren't thinking clearly.

1st) If there is an option for both and you can switch between them on the fly it will not effect your game. You can still play in the style you like. Since it won't effect your game, why complain about it?

2nd) you people are hurting Rockstar with your bad advice. If Rockstar put in both options they would sell more games because the game will appeal to both third and first person gamers. They won't lose half the money because they won't alienate a large group of gamers.!!

I am a first person gamer only. I cannot stand the ugly 3rd person view - I cant stand looking at my characters backside as if im a disembodied spirit behind my character. I'd rather BE my character and the Only good way to do that is first person for immersion.

I have played GTA San Andreas and GTA IV in first person with mods. Rockstar made money on me because i bought these to play in first person. If there were no first person mods, they wouldn't have made that money, so excluding the first person view is stupid for both Rockstar and the gamers.

I look forward to the time GTA V has a first person mod.. and that day Rockstar with thank god for that mod because they would have just made money on me for the 3rd time. I won't buy it until then and then this game will play IMO as it's meant to be played.

Just wait till a PC version, someone will make a first person mod just like they did with GTA IV.
