Wouldn't it be cool if Rockstar Games would add an additional first person view to GTA V?

Perhaps it would be great if you could switch between first person and third person.

You decide... — tell me your opinion!

Yeah why not. I kinda like it like in Hitman and MGS.

Good Lord, what are you doing? Hell no, man. This isn't Skyrim or whatever, so I'd think not. Traditional 3rd person should definitely stay, cuz if they put first person in, they'd have to make textures on guns and other objects super HD, which would take up much more space than necessary.

Nothing wrong with having both. And to RussianFreak, the gun objects were already pretty high-res in GTA IV. Hell, even tiny little some-megabyte mods for GTA SA add crazy detail to guns in that game.

I'm ok with it, aslong as it's optional. And no need to remake weapons to "ultra HQ" because already GTA4 weapons look ok at close view. In GTA5, the weapons will be ultra HQ anyway, if I am not wrong. Makes sense.

I don't think it's a good idea (although I voted for both). 1st person should be only when you ride a vehichle so you can see the interior of it.

Well, an option's an option. More options is better. Now, they probably wouldn't put all that much work into it, so it wouldn't be a great first person view. I'd probably use it while walking around the city with the minimap off, though, just taking in the sights. I wouldn't mind it, and don't quite understand the resistance to more camera options. It doesn't have to be amazing, it can be like that mod for GTA IV, only people on the consoles get to have it too.

I voted for both, since I wouldn't mind having the option. I don't agree with anyone saying you're not a GTA fan or that you should play COD if you want extra choice. I don't mind at all if it wasn't in, as I'd only ever play in third person anyway, but I remember seeing a video for a first person mod on IV and it was cool to walk around the city in that perspective. It's something I enjoyed about Skyrim.

Only for vehicles (cockpit view)

Yeah, I agree. I always liked the idea of being able to be essentially 'the driver's eyes'. I don't know how well that would play out in drive-bys, though.

Also, Kirsty is definitely right. It doesn't make you a CoD fan if you like having the option for first-person.

I have always hated that horrible hood view on cars and wanted a cockpit view instead, so both. I don't think it'd work for outside a car, though.

Lock n' Stock

From Wikipedia:

In October 2011, Rockstar creative vice president Dan Houser told Famitsu that Rockstar is intentionally avoiding developing in the first-person shooter genre. "We're deliberately avoiding that right now", he said, according to a 1UP.com translation. "It's in our DNA to avoid doing what other companies are doing. I suppose you could say that Max Payne 3 is something close to an FPS, but there are really unique aspects to the setting and gameplay there, too, not just in the story. You have to have originality in your games; you have to have some kind of interesting message. You could say that the goalpoint of Rockstar is to have the players really feel what we're trying to do". Houser went on to say that Rockstar has "made new genres by ourselves with games like the GTA series. We didn't rely on testimonials in a business textbook to do what we've done. I think we succeeded precisely because we didn't concentrate on profit... If we make the sort of games we want to play, then we believe people are going to buy them."

Threads are getting stupider every day.

no go play call of duty

You see this, this right is what's wrong with this forum. Comments like that.

Seriously what do you have against more camera options? We already have a useless cinematic view, why not a first person view?

This is the type of stupidity that habituates this forum.

Parkour? go play assasins creed!

zombies? go play cod!

how about? jets? go play a flight simulator!

dogs? go play pets for ds!

Fact is that, if it's well implemented, a first person view mode would be awesome. I'm not saying it should be really focused on, just make it so that the point of view is the persons head. They don't need to do hd or textures or sh*t like that, it would only be for fun..

If you don't like it then don't use it.

Simple as that. Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

This is an example of how it would look like. It's fine, but nobody would be forcing you to use it. Edited by Crimson Flam3s

I already voted no, but after thinking it for a bit maybe it could be okay for driving. Drivebys would be a little difficult but there are similar camera angles already in the game so I guess that wouldn't be a problem. First person walking would be unneeded as of now though. Maybe next gen with higher resolution textures etc. MGS4 did a decent job at combining 3rd and 1st person cameras btw.

I would mind it if they put it in as a cheat or something, why not it couldn't hurt

@zalanith far cry looks really good what are you talking about? what exactly do you not like about cuz it looks like an amazing game? for only a first person game, I personally like the combination of the two views Third person and First Person, and as far as i know the only game that does this is Rainbow Six first person when walking around then it zooms out to Third person when you go into cover its perfect and thats why that series is my favorite FPS series

I'd like that... but it's been a topic of discussion since the first 3D GTA. I don't think it's ever going to happen cool.gif

Wouldn't mind the option, then I wouldn't have to bust out the Sniper Rifle just to gawk at stuff

I agree, I think it would just be cool because being in first person view would definitely create some interesting screenshots biggrin.gif

Voted for both.

GTA IV looks awesome with the FPS mod, yeah sure, the arms were weird and stuff but walking around liberty city, it just felt more immersive.

Whats wrong with having both? I seriously can not see an issue with having both options.

Lets be Pro-Choice people, Lets vote for Change! Lets vote for Obama! Change!
