Like it even matters at this point? I doubt someone is going to turn around and be all like "OH, ONLY 18GB of Data, well screw you Cockstar, I only buy games that are 20GB+!"

I'm sorry but what do you mean "should". I don't think developers or producers are targeting a certain size to meet up with. But perhaps it's just something lost in translation and you meant to say "How much do you think it will be..."?

950 trillion to go along with that 500 gazillion gigs of RAM.

Yeah, and with a 10,000 page manual. icon14.gif

Are you talking about PS3? Because for gta 4 on xbox 360, it was about 7.3GB -basically filling the disk. RDR was 6 GB. I bet GTA V will AT LEAST just about fill the disk with 7.9GB although I can see it needing 2 disks. but for Ps3, maybe 40gb

The quality and size of assets are the same on both platforms as they are both bound by the same ram limitations. The only differential you'll see is for the in-game tv video content which, like in GTAIV, had higher quality versions on the PS3 because of the larger disc size.

But this may change if the Xbox version goes for a multiple disc mandatory install option.

Your other topic was already locked, you should probably take out the link in your first post since there's no poll there icon14.gif

I think it will be a pretty hefty size! I couldn't say a number, since they are really bigging up the size of this game. The map detail alone must take up a lot of space. Didn't Max Payne 3 turn out to be a huge amount? or was that for PC..

I can feel as if it's going to be around 20GB for both consoles, and around 35GB for the PC. Max Payne 3 was around 35GB and I think most of the coding and different texture options took up that space. I could be wrong though.

Ugh, modern games. In my day, games fit on 3 floppies! And that was when we were being fancy!

The titles worded a bit wrongly, developers can't aim for file sizes. I think it will be 50GB though.

Probably a max of 50 GB and no more. It will be fine for the PS3 as we have extra memory from the blu-ray.

Max Payne 3 needed around 35GB of space on PC but that was because of the huge amount of pre-rendered scenes. The textures and models, particulary of the map in this case, don't need that much space, at least if we compare it to the audio files that need the majority of the space.

What file size should it have? What kind of question is this?

I dont think devs anywhere plan any game from scratch with a certain size limit in mind...

Seeing that Max Payne 3 was hitting 30GB, it will probably be around 35 or 40GB, who knows.

I know it's important for SSD users, but it will be ages before the PC version is released, if it's released at all.
