RedHawk504
Dear gta community, Yesterday i started with creating engine sounds for vehicles, i managed to get some good acceleration sound idling sounds and more. But whenever im ingame and drive with a car where i modded the engine sound from its really terrible to hear. Im using Wavepad Sound editor to edit create and save .wav files. My question is what's the best Hz to save on? I tried 44K hz but then the game will crash, i've yet tried to lower it to 16K hz and then you can't almost hear it anymore. So whats the best option to choose? .wav mono or stero format? and what HZ Thanks in advance. RedHawk504.
Celestail
I always fought games use .ogg sound files, have you tried that format?
Spartan_468
You should use ONLY monophonic sounds. Bitrate does not seem to cause any serious bugs, as long as the new files are the same length as the old ones. About the crashes, GTA SA should not crash because of sounds. GTA VC and GTA III, i do not know, never tested them. P.S. I have rain sound bug, and my sound banks are the untouched originals, so... RedHawk504
Okay thanks, good to know how long it can be, my second question is now: how to fix the unhearable thing?

Spartan_468
It seems that the sound you added has lower volume than the sounds the game uses. Simply use a sound editing program and raise the volume. Maybe you would like to add some bass as well, specially if you have a sub-woofer.
