TheWetPartoftheArm Posted November 22, 2012 Share Posted November 22, 2012 We see in the original trailer a shot of some random dude with a couple of girls that have on backpacks with sleeping bags, something tells me there was a reason for showing that. I mean they could've just showed the mountains alone without those peds, R* may have been suggesting hiking, equipment included. It would be awesome to call up a friend or two and hike out into the wilderness with a tent to use for your hard saves, and perhaps a hunting rifle of sorts and some torches, then set up a campfire when it gets dark. That would be an interesting activity for Michael to do with the family, or just Jimmy, camping and hiking are family friendly stuff. (in case you didn't know: we can't use them, it has been confirmed in the previews/interviews) But of course I agree with you that it really would be nice to have a tent to camp and save the game in the wilderness. Just like the people who argued that there must have been a reason to show the for sale sign, and now they're crying because we cant buy houses. Yeah like this idea, infact I made a topic like this where u can build a tent on the wilderness like Red Dead Redemption. Were u can save your progress and changed some clothes. For Example: Micheal could tell his family to go on a road trip and buy hiking equipment (1000$-3000$ For the whole set of hiking equipment) and go on a road trip with random events. Or Trevor could go with one of his redneck friends with his RV being towed by a rancher and shoot some beer cans or something. They must be crying because they misinterpreted the message Rockstar was trying to convey which I think is about the bad economy, and the pedestrian was selling his house. It's a bit silly to expect full on empire building just from seeing a for sale sign in front of a normal home. You could be right, but neither property purchasing nor gyms would fit with this game, yet hiking actually would, so I'm hoping there was in fact a method to their madness in this case. If it was merely to give you a feel of the game, why not just a shot of peds with no hiking equipment and the mountains in the background? It was a pretty specific shot too, not a two second brief pan of the camera, an almost lingering moment focused on those three hikers. Plus it's something R* haven't done before, they've done gyms and property but never hiking and hiking equipment, closest we got was RDR with a tent. So... you never know, we can dream. His son is too lazy to do activities like this . Otherwise nice idea, but I don't know if Rockstar will go that too much in details with this.
