Bullsh*t they listened to their fans.  If they had listened, why the f*ck they left out properties and character customization in V? How can you spend your money without buying out the town and not having an empire?  And what the f*ck with the idea with 3 protags?  From the looks of it, this stupid 3 protags idea will actually restrict our freedom in gameplay because we will be forced to switch during missions. As some have already noted, listening to the fans isn't always the best way, because fans don't all sing from the same hymn sheet and want wildly different things, many of whom have little regard for what is actually appropriate to the game.

 

But as someone posted in some other thread recently, it's not rocket science. There are certain things which are obviously appropriate features to add or expand upon within the context of a GTA game, and Rockstar just have to decide which of those to focus on.

 

I'm sure that some people from Rockstar come to this forum and take a look at what kind of things are being said. But they would not be so foolish as to think that this place represented the general consensus of GTA players. Only the nerds would come here to discuss the game, and even within that we can't come to a consensus.

 

Of course some posts on here could give them ideas. I see plenty of quality ideas posted up here all the time and Rockstar would be foolish not to listen to the more rational and reasoned ideas and criticisms.

 

Of course they could never acknowledge it, because it's not as though they are actually copying our ideas.. But i hope that many of the amazing ideas posted up on the forums have been seen by developers and that they have viewed them as objectively as possible and that some of them have helped to plant seeds or to help shape the focus of the developers in some way.

 

The three protagonists are the best example i feel they actually did look at the many fair criticisms of a lot of us who really felt that Niko's character as portrayed through their story, was wildly different to the actions the player would be taking in general throughout the game. It acted as a massive barrier between the player and the game, the fact that it was so inconsistent.

 

They definitely have acknowledged that, and they had a couple of ways they could address that. Of course removing killing pedestrians was never an option, so they had to find another way, which they did. And it's no coincidence that the three protagonists closely match the wishes of the fans.

 

Of course the other main gripes were the money system, and the lack of general side activities. They say they have addressed both issues but are yet to reveal any information about it so we will just have to wait and see on those issues.
