TheDavid
Hey Everyone. I have a setup with an AMD Phenom II X4 830 6GB DDR3 (Going to 16 soon) GeForce GT430 (2GB) Looking to upgrade the GPU, any suggestions on a good match for this rig, it would replace the GT430. anus
What's your budget? What PSU do you currently have? Do you want to get a new PSU as well (in case your current one isn't powerful enough to handle the new video card)? Btw, unless you're doing some heavy duty multitasking on your PC, you don't need 16GB. 8GB is the sweet spot right now.
TheDavid
Budget is on the lower end, no more than $150ish. Probably going to need a new PSU anyways, only rocking a 250W unit... LOL
yoječ
$150 excluding PSU? As far as graphics cards go, HD6870 is the best option for ~$150. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814150561 HD7850 would be even better, but it's over budget. If you want something cheaper than HD6870, then go for HD7770. As for the PSU - there are a few cheap and decent ones, e.g.: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817139026 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817371029 Though, it should be noted that they both come with single PCIe connector, so you'd have to use an adapter to hook up the HD6870 (HD7850/HD7770 won't need it). TheDavid
150 with or without the PSU. I want something that is future proof, so once GTA V PC comes around, I won't have any trouble, just pop in the disk and go. Also, something that is able to handle high poly count in games.
